Waste of money

Comments about Amana Top Loading 3.6 Cubic Foot Washer:
I purchased this washer and had to replace it in the first year due to an overwhelming mildew smell comming from underneath the barrel. Thankfully I was making payments so it was replaced at no cost to me. Washer #2's lid lock decided to stick and when I called Amana to have it replaced I was told $200 just for the repair guy to show plus $85 an hour. Yeah, right. 2/3 the total cost of washer just to repair a simple part. Thank god for butter knives! I used this method for a year until my washer decided to give up the goose and no longer lock at all. Called again and was told the parts are $51 and$21plus $22 for shipping. So again the cost of a simple repair is 1/4 the total cost of the washer. Not happy at all that a 2yro washer is this ridiculous. Had my whirlpool for 12 years with only one problem with the pump and only cost $5 to fix.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Worst washer ever boughton
from Northern Michigan
Bought this a few months ago and hate it. It doesn't put enough water in to get all the clothes wet. Tried only putting a small armful of clothes in it. That didn't help any. It just puts less water in it then as it auto fills. And if you actually had clothes that got dirty with actual dirt it doesn't clean them. Another California invention, the water saver. Doesn't save much water when you need to wash them several times. It doesn't rinse all the soap out. Tried using half the recommend amount of soap and switching brands to. But that didn't help. I've had other Amana products and bean happy with them. But not this one.

I bought this machine last year and I WISH I send it back! What a piece of "made in gloves" waste. When rinse cycle comes on, pulls in the water, when finish it drains-no washing! I have to put to rinse and spin cycle again! When it's taking water, now warm now cold switching back and forth, making banging sound. And NO none of my previous machines did that. And NO I am not using too much soap. The only excuse for this waste of a product is just that-BAD DESIGN and waste of my money!

Warm Water Wash
from Marthasville, MO
Serouisly, it's only barely luke warm. Actually more to the cold side. I have to let it run on hot to fill half way up and then switch to warm if I want any oily or greasey spots to come out. It fills with cold water for 45 seconds then switches to hot for 10 seconds, can hardly expect it to be warm.

Could not be happier with my Amana washer!!
from Lake Charles, LA
My new Amana washer and dryer are both awesome!!! I have been in my house for seven years and hope to soon remodel my kitchen. My new washer and dryer will have a new spot - soon I hope. All I need now is a new dishwasher - especially since I have never had one!!!

Bought a month or more ago. Very quiet and deep container to do a large load. Various cycles to choose from. Love it!

Yes..I love this washer, never had a Amana Washer before but I am glad that I bought this one.
from Clearlake, CA.
I couldn't ask for a better washer! It holds a tremendous amount of clothes and has a hand wash cycle. I hesitated at first to wash my giant King size (heavy) blanket from my bed because it is so heavy. I just put it on the "bulky clothes" setting, and no worries! It was like I didn't even have it on it was so quiet, and my blanket came out beautifully. I love it, it's perfect!

I first purchased a used GE washer and it was always having trouble when it was spinning. I have experienced this with other washers I had an did not what to go through this again. Returned the GE and bought this Amana LOVE IT. Even can put my queen size quilts in it with no problem.
