About Me Technically Challenged
I wanted a super portable lightweight laptop for my online studies, and this little machine meets my needs perfectly. I've taken it on a trip and used it on the plane (downloaded readings)and during my stay away from home. The battery life is amazing. The only glitch I've experienced so far was when the battery somehow totally drained and I could not figure out how to turn it back on after charging it overnight. I finally googled it and found out that I needed to hold down the on-button for 30 seconds or more to re-boot it. Have had no issues since.

Hopefully you get a good one.
from Cincinnati Ohio
So I want to love this. I bought two of these (one from elsewhere) and both have had issues. The screen will occasionally stay on while the lid is closed (drains the battery over night.) the battery died while I had it off the other day. When it works I LOVE this little guy. I wish it worked better. Both I bought had this issue but this one seemed to have it less often. Asus tech suppport was horrible. Sent one back and it fixed the problem but windows wouldn't activate.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

great machine if you want to try out windows 8. can be challenging but it is fun once you get the hang of it. I am a windows office user and this is a nice combo of pad and desktop. You will not beat the price for the capability.
Hybrid Tablet/Laptop Sets a High Bar
from Las Vegas
About Me On the Go, Small Businessman, Tech Savvy
If you're looking for a hybrid tablet/laptop solution the T100TA should be on your short list. It offers flexibility and ease of use. Some setup information you may find helpful. 1) If your router is set to "shared", change it to "open" or "auto". In "shared" it will not connect. 2) One of my programs was not compatible with windows 8.1 and caused the keyboard driver to fail which resulted in the keyboard not working. The fix was easy - run the windows 8.1 refresh (does not delete your files) and reload only programs compatible with windows 8. The program which caused the issue was Sage 50 Complete Accounting 2013.I've been using the T100TA for a couple of weeks and couldn't be happier. It feels solid, boots lightning fast, and is perfect for my on the go lifestyle.
Very good after Factory Reset
By Joe the blow
from Chicago, IL
The product was an absolute disaster the first 2 days until I did a factory reset. I was close to returning it but figured I should give it a shot first and after the reset and several updates including bios and touchpad drivers-It's been very nice. I've had a few freeze ups, but pretty rare since the update and I don't always blame the hardware for that. Chrome doesn't seem as nice as IE on this which is shocking. Pros: I love the portability, battery life, and trackpad after the software updates. Cons: Everything before the updates, Finger print magnet(waiting on a skinoma techskin to cover) I wish it was able to tilt back farther especially when using on my lap. They had to limit it due to being top heavy but all the more reason to add a battery in the keyboard!!!! ;)
