My Avanti
The Avanti oven i purched from PC Richards was a great buy i able to do all kinds of cooking with my new Avanti from making my favorite meals lasagna to making burger or steak in my frying pan top of the burners . It is smaller then my previous stove but this handl3s all my needs and gives me extra space in my kitchen love it .

Simple and efficient.
Small, easy to clean, wider and narrower burners. Does the work. A small design defect is that the grid on top of the burners does not hold a small frying pan that I have securely. Its handle is heavier than the pan itself when it's empty, and it would slant to the left since the iron from the grid does is absent in that position. What I did was take the grids and use them sideways instead. however, the surface is not square, so it does not fit perfectly. All other pans that are even weight are ok, but I prefer to be secure.

This is our first Avanti product. Gas burners don't go low enough to simmer properly. When turned on high it seems to take a long time to bring a pot of water to a boil compared to our previous 20"stove. Also the interior is smaller, had to buy a new roasting pan. Sometimes the burners and the oven take a while to light, maybe we just need to get used to using it. We like the oven window and the interior light.

Make a good product Avanti
Three months after getting the Avanti stove, all the igniter stayed on after I cooked a meal. They all clicked unstoppable until I pulled the plug from the wall. It took 2 repair people and 6 weeks to get the part inside the stove replaced and fixed. The first repairman came without any parts. The Second fixed it with no problems. I’ll stay with this stove.

Do not buy an Avanti. Bought it 2 years ago and the right side burners do not work. Repairman said it was the wiring. Getting a replacement stove which I hope is better.

Oven control is flimsy. Broken in 7 months
My landlord bought this range 7 months ago. We didn't have many choices because we were looking for 20". It looked decent at that time. I use oven often and I thought oven control knob was flimsy and it was hard to control. The oven shuts off time to time. I couldn't trust oven temperature. And then on Saturday at 10 pm, I couldn't turn oven off. I couldn't turn the knob to off position. Thank God for 1 year manufacturer warranty and a part is replaced on Tuesday morning. But I couldn't use my gas range for 2.5 days. I wouldn't recommend this range to anyone. PC Richard & Son should not carry this item.

how do i light the oven .....i am having a hard time

I have included some of the basic information from the manual below.
IGNITION OF THE OVEN BURNER
The thermostat allows the automatic control of the temperature.
The gas delivery to the oven burner is controlled by a two way thermostatic tap (oven and broil
burners) with flame-failure device.
To light the oven burner operate as follows:
1) Open the oven door to its full extent.
WARNING: Risk of explosion! The oven door must be open during this
operation.
2) Lightly press and turn the thermostat knob counter-clockwise to max position or 500ºF
3) Press the knob inward and hold to activate the electronic ignition. Note that you will hear a
“clicking” noise. Hold the knob pressed inward until the oven burner is lit. Once the oven burner is lit,
release the knob.
In case of power outage, you can manually light the burner by pressing the knob inward and
immediately approach a lighted match to the opening “A” (see the diagram above).
Never continue this operation for more than 15 seconds. If the burner has still not ignited, wait
for about 1 minute prior to repeating the ignition.
4) When using the range for the first time or after long period of non-usage, keep pressing the knob
inward for approximately 10 – 15 seconds after the burner has lit to ensure the gas valve has been
accurately primed.
5) Close the oven door slowly and adjust the burner accordingly to the desired temperature. If the
flame extinguishes for any reason, the safety valve will automatically shut off the gas supply to the
burner.
To re-light the burner, first turn the oven control knob to the OFF position, wait for at least 1 minute and
then repeat the lighting procedure.
