Super Quiet, Chose this over the 800
from Wading River, NY
About Me Avid Cook
Whoever said this dishwasher is loud, I'd like to meet you because you're clearly from the planet Krypton and probably have more powers than just super hearing. The loudest noise this dishwasher makes is when it drains, and that's not really the dishwasher, but my drain. Otherwise it's very difficult to tell it's running from just a few steps away.I chose this over the 800 series for a number of reasons. First, it has no protruding handle. I like the look of a handle, but in my kitchen it would have made a drawer at a 90 degree angle impossible to open. Second, the 800 has one more cycle for glass. I would literally never use that cycle. Third, the 800 allows you to fold down more tines on the bottom rack. While this would be convenient on occasion, it wasn't worth the near $200 difference. The final difference between the two units is push buttons vs touch buttons, and I could really care less. Either I risk a mechanical or electrical failure in the future, pick your poison.I chose to install this myself because I'm capable of connecting 2 hoses and an electrical line. I bought the installation kit with the unit, but didn't need it. This dishwasher comes with everything you need. The waste line and water line are already pre-connected, and the electrical relay is set up so you just push your electrical leads into ports and screw them in place. All I had to do was remove the old lines, connect the electric, attach the new lines to the water and drain, level the unit and attach it to the counter. It may sound like a lot, but as a total novice I did it in about an hour. This is a serious high end dishwasher with virtually everything most people will need. I have no regrets about my decision to choose this over the 800 series or any other dishwasher on the market.

Dishwasher has been repaired and replaced multiple times because the plastic handle BREAKS off in pieces. Starts with a hairline crack by the screws and then starts falling off. Bosch customer service is great but I wish we had bought a different model.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Just purchased this today
from North Haven, CT
I bought this unit because the 1 review stated you can't hear the unit while it's on. Well I sure can. It is much quieter than my 14 year old Frigidaire but I can certainly hear the unit while it's on. My in-laws have a Miele that you can't hear at all. For the money I spent on this unit, I was hoping for quiet and didn't get it. The Miele is 7dBA quieter. Bummed!

Talk about quiet
from Long Island, NY
We bought this dishwasher to replace a 14 year old Kenmore Elite. This washer is super quiet. My old dishwasher you had to crank up the tv volume as we have an open concept kitchen living area. If it didn't have the led light on the bottom you would not know it was on. Cleans great. I just have to learn how to load it efficiently. Awesome dishwasher.
