Just what I expected, and very satisfied.
Comments about Bose® SoundLink® Mini Bluetooth® Speaker - Silver:
I was on the hunt for a small portable unit with decent sound, projection, and long battery life. I listened to dozens of other portables that varied in size, performance, and price range. This unit won hands down. I am very satisfied with the battery life, as that is important to me. Seems like I get the full 10 hours out of it, although so far I only use it for 30 minutes to an hour or so at a time, so I haven't really kept that close tabs on it. I mainly use it in close proximity, and never expected it to be anything more than for my personal enjoyment. In other words, I never expected it to be something to drive a party. It's perfect for the office, garage, small gathering, or on my old work truck dashboard. As someone else mentioned, it "isn't terribly stereo", but I am satisfied with the apparent 'depth' of the sound image. This unit meets/exceeds my expectations as a small portable system. It sounds great, has a substantial feel to it, and appears well built.

Was nice...while it was functional
After about 6 months to 1 year, the speakers started turning off randomly. If not charging/placed in the dock, it now turns off every 5-10 minutes. Searching forums this appears to a common problem and the warranty is useless. When in the dock, it makes a horrible noise at the same frequency. Turning it back on became so frustrating I just stopped using it. The sound quality is good for this size compared to other products, but pales in comparison to, say, the sounddock. I would not recommend this product, in fact, would highly suggest you avoid.

Over a year
For almost 2 years, I've used this speaker daily. I carry it from room to room, leave it in the kitchen and clearly hear in back of the house, carry it to work and plug into a computer for classroom use. It's great with classical, jazz, swing, country, and classic rock, audio books, podcasts, tv, It's well worth every penny paid for it and so incredibly versatile!

To start, I have to say I'm a bit prejudiced in Bose's favor. I have long (decades) been a fan of their products and have tried other branding but usually aren't as satisfied with the results. Once again I am absolutely satisfied with this little gem. Its small. The size of a 7 inch shoe (good things do come in small packages so don't be offended if you have a 7" shoe). The sound is typically "Bose"- well balanced and surprising. Place this on the floor or under furniture and away for a bit more base. But even so it doesn't lack base wherever you place it. Though it does better overall at a distance or pointed away I think. I'm a purist. Bluetooth as a platform does not by any means transfer music from the source in the best quality and don't get me started on the dismal MP3 format. But none the less, preadjusted leveling and amplification is spot on. If you use an app that has leveling output and such, you can adjust this if you like but again, it isn't necessary. The only caveat is its weight. It's a hefty pound and a half. So don't go day hiking with it and all your other gear (ask someone else to carry it).

I recently purchases the Mini II and I love it. The sound is amazing and it is priced right.
Sounds great...works great..but
By Pearl Anniversary
It's silver...not "pearl"....ordered online so had not seen it in person. Not that this matters to most and definitely would not prevent me from recommending it, but when your giving as a gift and expect PEARL (white)... it's kind of a downer when your gift is opened. Huge fans of Bose. 2 home theater systems. Radio in the kitchen. Bookshelf speakers in the garage, both vehicles, headphones, earbuds....this little guy is a welcome addition even if it is the wrong color!

Surprising sound quality. Very satisfied.
I got this about a week ago. I, as well as everyone I have shown it to are impressed by the sound from this speaker. Like others have said, the lows are specially impressive from something so small. I would agree with others that it sounds better on wood surfaces and closer to walls. The bigger the space the hollower the sound. That said, it is still very impressive for the size. I live in a small 600qt foot apartment and it fills the main room nicely. I can feel the bass even across the room. It is MUCH easier to pair then the older version and then the last version of the regular size soundlink. I have had issues with those pairing in the past, but not at all with this one. Also, multiple devices can be paired at once. I love how portable it is as well. Also, the aesthetic design is SO MUCH nicer then something like Beats or JBL. Those ones just look cheap in comparison. Now, it may not be B&O level beautiful, but it's also not B&O price. Over all VERY satisfied.

Value for money!!
Best value for money in the price range compared to other BT speakers. It is able to distill different sounds well at max volume.

My favorite Bose yet
I just purchased my second Soundlink Mini II. This one is for my office, it is the speaker for my computer, streaming radio, bluetooth in from my phone for more music, or speaker phone for my iPhone when i have my landline headset on. The first one is used around the house, in the garage, on the boat and in our RV trailer. It has great sound and bass. The bass is better when you have a wall behind it to reflect the bass. It does not get as loud as my Sounddocks when being used outdoors. The Sounddocks are much richer sounding in a very large room or outdoors, and the Sounddock have more volume. But in our house in a 30' x 25' great room with 10' ceilings (and smaller rooms) the Soundlink Mini is perfect. I'm 50 now and enjoy 70's to 90's rock, modern country when I'm in the mood, and my teenager's alternative music on the Mini as well. I'll be getting a third for my daughter when I send her off to her college dorm in the fall, more compact and portable than the Sounddock in her bedroom now.
