don't buy if you want to print photos
from Washington, United States
The printing quality is awful, colors fade and every picture has lines across it, after trying multiple times to adjust settings. Only use it to print text documents and nothing else.

Worst office product Ive ever owned
from Pittsburgh, PA, United States
I have an earlier version of this printer and it is the worst office product I have ever owned. Takes a long time to warm up, burns through ink, constant error messages. I have printed around 50-60 pages during the life of this printer MAX and it is no longer functioning. Even while it was functioning at its best I would rate it 2/10. Now I got a B200 error and it has ceased functioning completely.
After three years with no problems I'm happy
from California, United States
The photos printed are very good color and consistent in all photo media. I've used it for many years now. People that complain about running out of ink are forgetting the ink prints great because there is enough to create a perfect image. Non-Canon cartridges are available for a lot less. I'll keep this until it breaks.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great Price -- Works as advertised
from Arlington, VA, United States
Saw this printer being offered at a very attractive price but of course I wanted to check out the reviews. Much to my surprise, people either loved the MG3520 or trashed it. That made no sense to me and given the attractive price and my positive experience with other Canon products over the last 10-11 years, I decided to “take a chanceâ€ so to speak. The complaints that I saw consistently were: • Wireless doesn’t work • Scanner doesn’t work • No documentation • Paper jams I’m happy to report that I didn’t encounter any of these issues. I did have some trouble with WPS but that was a result of my network configuration, i.e. choosing not to broadcast my SSID. There are several ways around this: a. Broadcast the SSID b. Use the WPS pin that is “providedâ€ by the MG3520 c. Temporarily use a USB cable to ensure that the printer is found; it can be removed after installation As the documentation and installation dialogue were clear (to me anyway), I’m up and running with no issues. Wireless and scanner functionality works as advertised. WRT a lack of documentation â€" that’s not true. No paper jams either (need to follow very clear instructions for loading the paper and be careful not to exceed capacity). Check the Cannon site, there are all kinds of manuals and videos WRT setup and installation. The latest drivers/software are also available for download, newer than what’s on the installation CD that came with my printer by 2+ years. Uncomfortable with technical documentation etc.? Then as other reviewers suggested, contact their tech support staff.
probably sending it back

I have had this printer for a few months ago. I was able to make it print a few good color copies. It said black ink was low so I bought a cartrige and installed; this after months of it not doing anything. The wireless light (blue) is on. Two green lights and the omionus blinkning yellow light. The printer makes sounds like it's loading paper,,,,that's all. I push the PRINT button in the controls; same routine. I'll give it one more chance.

Seriously, why i scanning so impossible?
Don't buy this thing. You will be much happier spending more money on a better model. This thing prints successfully 75% of the time, scans successfully wirelessly 10% of the time. It was scanning for me via USB about 50% of the time, but currently I am completely unable to get it to work. It's like taking crazy pills. I run through the exact same diagnostic steps to see why it's not working and to force it to work. Sometimes those steps work. Sometimes they don't. There is no rhyme or reason to it.

I've had this printer for a couple of years and don't know why I've put up with it for that long. Worst printer ever! It's slow, noisy and apparently it's not a scanner. Also, it quit allowing me to print wirelessly, so I have to use my desktop computer to print. Next printer won't be a Canon.

Works great, no problems thus far. Purchased about 6 months ago.

I recently purchased this printer but could not get it hooked up to my notebook to print wireless. I spent 2 days trying to connect this to my router, the only way I could get it to work is using a usb cord and even then it had to stay hooked up using the cord in order to print. Wireless (NOT) I am taking it back on the third day. I hope I can find another printer that is actually wireless.
