Compact yet cooks like a commercial grill
Comments about Char-Broil Patio Bistro Tru-Infrared Propane Grill:
I bought this grill over the summer (2016) for our beach condo. We have limited storage space in a utility room at the ground level. I got the Bistro to replace a "tail gate" grill from another manufacturer that collapsed. The problem with the competitor's model was the shallow cooking area. The Bistro Grill is compact, yet it provides you with ample cooking surface and depth between the grill surface and the lid top. It allows for great heat control! We grilled dishes that required low-heat / slow cooking to high-heat / searing (such as seafood, steaks and burgers, chicken and fresh vegetables). It's fantastic and performs like a full size commercial grill.

Great gas grill for a few people
By Rod the cookman
Have had it for 3 years now and love it. Have to light it by hand the starter never really worked. Can come home from work fire it up and enjoy my meal in know time.
Love the way it's cooks
Works great had a little trouble with getting it lite so we took off original lighter and put on the cheap lighter works great now
not easy to clean
how can I clean the grate? can i use vinegar and baking soda to clean the grate ?
Love the TRU-Infrared!
I have had the grill for over 4 years. Finally had to order some parts. I never burned a steak or burger in all 4 years. If you have limited space then this is the grill you need.
Replacement to start the grill has gone bad.
I bought this grill two years ago in April. In July of the same year I got a notice there was a defect on how you started it. I was set apart which I had put on I felt they should have reprice the grill since it was brand-new. Now this part has gone bad and I don't know what to do I guess I need a replacement part that I don't know who I will get to put it on this time. Please answer.m

Grill works great but cheap plastic parts break
I like the way the grill cooks, and was initially happy with grill and bought a different model for use in my motorhome. Then the chinzey plastic parts started breaking. You cannot just get the plastic that broke but have to buy the complete assembly just to the part you need. I wish I had not bought a char-broil for my motorhome now.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Pros and Cons - Life cycle of a bistro grill
Background: I've owned this grill 2.5 - 3 years. It has been through a lot and I will be buying a new grill soon. I've used this grill 1-3 times every week and kept it outside in the Florida climate for all 3 years. Here is my whole experience, the good and the bad. The Pros: It is very fuel efficient, I've only changed tanks on it twice. It grills a great steak or burger every time and can fit 8 large burgers on the grill. It sears very well, but does cook hot, so more delicate foods must be watched closely. The grilling surface is amazing!!!! It's great for veggies because they will not slip through. The Cons: I've never had an ignition button last longer than a few weeks, and I have tried 4. Just gave up and light with a long lighter. If you want the grill to last, you need to clean meticulously. As grillers know, if you clean a grill you lose some of the true grill flavor you get from the cooking accumulations. Though the grilling surface is amazing, a frequent year round griller will get a year out of it before it needs to be replaced. My second grilling surface is ready to be replaced now. The same can be said for the brackets that hold the drip pan. The Aftermath: I loved using and abusing this grill. I've cooked anything from meats and veggies to fruits and pizza on the grill. After almost 3 years of heavy use, the welds/screws on the front have broken and the control module fell from the front of the frame. I repaired the handle during year 2 because the screws broke. To sum up, I am pretty happy with the performance of this grill, though I think the quality of some parts are a little suspect.
The good stuff: a) I have owned this grill for 3 years. It cooks more evenly than any other grill I have owned. b) Heats up quickly which saves on gas. c) Great value. The not so good stuff: a) It is a little hard to control the temp on the low end. b) The electric start died after 1 year, but that has been my experience with other grills. It is easy enough to use a long-nosed lighter through the "match port" or whatever that hole is called. c) I just ordered a replacement cooking grate. I wish it lasted longer or that it wasn't so expensive, but it is still less expensive than replacing the whole grill. d) If the handle starts to get loose, get out your screw drive right away. Just tighten the screw as soon as you notice it because it is nearly impossible to open the lid when the handle falls off. I wish it were a little bigger, but I knew the size before buying it, so I can't really include this as a negative item. I know that I wrote more about the "not so good", but overall, I think this is a good product and would buy it again.
after 2 months the ignitor switch stopped working so now I must remove the grill every time I lite manually. The grill is not easy to remove and replace. I cant find my reciept so forget warranty. Its a huge pain in the butt
