I'm in love
I have always used dyson. For some insane reason, I allowed my boyfriend to convince me to give away my old animal....and used his cannister vacuum. I hated my life for a year! I just purchased this beauty and couldn't be happier! everything you could ever ask for in a vacuum. Dyson, master race!
More suction, not fun to use.
Replaced my on its last legs Dyson for newest top of the line vac. But was it a good idea? When they first introduced that giant ball, I thought hmm not sure I like that. Canister is smaller. This one has no filters to clean, a really good thing cause what a pain that was. But it's quite heavy. And because of that ball, it's basically like pushing around a fridge on a kid's roller skate. Totters to the left and right, hurting my hand, wrist, and shoulder. Second time I tried it, seemed easier. But because the back sits on a sort of metal q-tip, you can't roll it when it's not on. Most people roll it on the back wheels, but there are none. So you have to shove it into the closet when done, or lift it. Maybe I could just vacuum it right up to the closet and then turn it off. Gonna try that next. Another annoyance is it squeaks. Like many more enjoyable activities in life, vacuuming is a forward-backwards motion. This squeaks on the backwards pass. Every time. Which, ironically is why I replaced the old one, thinking that squeak indicated imminent death. This super Dyson comes with an attachment for everything except beating eggs, although there was no set of earmuffs, which considering the irritating squeak, would be useful. It can hold only two of those zillion attachments on the vacuum itself, tho there would be room for more if they designed it more cleverly. Instead they give you a giant tote bag with a shoulder strap. This is so you can feel like a Pan Am stewardess from the 1960's while vacuuming. As I was sure I couldn't balance the bag on my shoulder while trying to keep the vacuum from upending itself, I haven't tried wearing it. My favorite attachment, the soft dusting brush, was not included, but rather a thing with microfiber threads, which worked well as long as the trajectory of the now-thinner wand was precise, something I could achieve only about 50% of the time. It definitely has more suction. Unbelievable suction, really. My old yellow no-ball one was was awesome but this is more so. Except it's not really fun to use, which is a big deterrent for people who aren't enthusiastic housekeepers or who resent being injured while cleaning. I'm thinking of aiming it out the door and seeing if it can suck in a boyfriend for me. Or, who knows, a lost $100 bill on the ground somewhere in Vegas. Ultimately my assessment is Dyson has gone in the wrong direction. The suction is SO strong they had to add a button to stop the beater bar because apparently it can decimate an area rug. It's vacuuming, not Sully landing on the Hudson. I always feel that people who design appliances never use them. This seems to be designed for a male body builder of 6'2. If only I had one.
Wow Wow Wow
Brought this home and was anxious to try it out. Had recently vacuumed and was actually shocked at what came out of my carpet. Every room it was the same thing, more dirt then I could imagine. Thought my carpets looked real nice too, refreshed the look of the carpet a bit. I need more time to use all the attachments and go though the house.
So my new Dyson Cintetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy just arrived. It went together very quickly which was fortunate because I really needed to vacuum. This machine is replacing a previous Dyson that I have owned for 10 years. I have an adorable Labrador Retriever who sheds which is why I purchased this machine in particular. This machine is nothing short of miraculous. I was stunned and a little embarrassed by how much dog hair it sucked up. This vacuum cleaner is easy to use and is the most powerful machine I have owned to date. Thank you Dyson for putting this machine on sale and shipping it so quickly. My dog and I are very happy.
Best vacuum we've ever had
We are very glad we ordered top of the line from Dyson. We have had this vacuum only 2 weeks, but we love it! With 3 dogs and a cat we have our hands full trying to keep pet hair picked up. This machine not only picks up pet hair, but tons of dust and other things we never knew were in our carpet! Does a great job on the hard floor as well. Easy to steer, not too heavy to lift up the stairs, with an easy carry handle.
The directions, although filled with nice pictures, could be a bit clearer. "As Shown" is used a few times, but where the heck is that process/part shown? Diagrams are not numbered; pieces are not identified. I got it together and it works (I want to compliment the origami master who designed the packaging) but it could have been put together and shipped that way with the various tools neatly packaged around the handle for padding. (Your origami master can do it!)
Our old one lasted eight+ years, this one of course was literally a breath of fresh air-seeing what it took out of our carpet made me - well I was sick that it was in there but glad it was out. Our carpets look steam cleaned and feel soft!! amazing!
I'm in love!!!!!
I will never buy any other vacuum!!!! I just vacuumed my carpets and 2 days later my Wonderful husband suprised me with this new dyson for our 10th Anniversary. I filled the canister in 1 room!! I am a believer :)
I love the maneuverability of this vacuum, but I don't like the container. It's tough to get the dog hair out because the space is so small and I have to use my fingers to grab and pull out the hair. There has to be a way of redesigning this without compromising the maneuverability. My previous Dyson Animal didn't have this issue because the container was big enough that when I opened the bottom, everything fell out freely.
