Great Hand Vac for quick clean up
Comments about Dyson DC44 Animal Cordless Vacuum:
Great little hand vac for in-between and quick clean ups! Dyson did a great job wit the design on this vacuum. Wish that it had interchangeable batteries for a longer run time.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I absolutely love the Dyson V6 Animal cordless vac
I've had my Dyson V6 cordless vacuum cleaner for about a month. It has changed my attitude about cleaning. I have 3 dogs in & out of the house and they are constantly tracking in and shedding. The Dyson V6 Animal is perfect for quickly taking care of these messes and it is so easy to operate and light. I hope it lasts a long time. The only improvement I can see on it is the way to empty the canister to discard the debris it collects. It sometimes does not just pop off the bottom of the canister for easy disposal. I have to fiddle with it sometimes and even take the whole canister off the handle. Maybe I'm not holding my mouth just right. Otherwise this is my new best cleaning tool !
Exactly what we were hoping it would be!
The V6 Absolute is lightweight, powerful, and easy to use. I have allergies that force me to leave the house when my wife vacuums, but I can do the vacuuming myself with the HEPA filter on the Absolute with no trouble. The attachments give it great versatility. Works great on hardwood floors, throw rugs, carpet, stairways, and dog beds. We were amazed by the amount of dirt it picked up! Would like to have an easily replaceable battery with separate charger as a future add-on product. Overall, a great product that exceeded our expectations!
Can't live without it!
I literally don't know how I made it before getting my cordless Dyson. It makes life so much easier! My favorite vacuum ever!
Great Vac, but developed problems
I LOVE this vacuum! I bought it refurbished and used it consistently for 4 years before running into the common problem of the machine turning off when you are still holding the trigger (just google it - i've tried all the solutions but sadly they haven't worked). Anyways, before this started occurring, it would run for about 15 minutes, did a great job with pet hair, and i would get my whole 1100 sq ft condo cleaned. Now, if only I could figure out how to get the battery to stay on for more than 30 seconds...
I use this almost daily. It is perfect for cleaning up after my little one. It has great suction power. Every guest that has ever seen me use it, ends up wanting one. It's wonderful!!!
Love This Machine
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia which made it very hard for me to use a regular upright vacuum. This Dyson is light and has so much better suction than my upright that I can use it with no trouble. The ball mount at the end of the tube makes going around corners and under furniture. So very glad we took the leap and spent the money for this.
DC59 has short comings
While the suction of this one is great for a stick, it has it's problems. The intake hole in the head is too small to even take up leaves or larger chunks on the floor. If you aren't careful you have to take the plates apart and clear the hole. The battery goes in less than 20 minutes and it is screwed in so that getting replacement batteries is not really much of an option since you have to dismantle it to replace the battery for another 20 minutes of work. Dust and hair collect around the filter cone and you have to remove the collection container to clear it. I have had a great deal of trouble putting the collection container back on. It is difficult to re-align it. After a time the filter cone started falling out on it's own when I'd tip the unit but a new one stays in ok. I have had to replace the brush head, but now it binds up frequently and I have to keep stopping and restarting it when I'm vacuuming.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
DC35 keeps going...
I have had this one for about 3 years and it just keeps going. I also have a DC59 which is not at all convenient. This DC35 has only just run out of power on the original battery. I really like it because I can change out the batteries easily so that I can clean larger areas. It is great for picking up dust and pet hair on hard surfaces as well. I haven't had to replace the brush bar, and the small head is the best pet hair cleaner I have used. It works better than the oval head brush which has been worthless.
This is a handy little vacuum that hangs "at attention" on its charger in a remote corner of my kitchen. I use the machine for a quick pick up of minor spills in the kitchen, and for a quick daily pick up of the floors in the main portion of the house. Because it is light and portable, I use it for dusting ceiling fans and swooping up cob webs that appear in the fall of the year.
