Awesome Customer Service!!!
Comments about Dyson DC50 Animal Lightweight Upright Vacuum - CLOSE OUT:
I wrote a poor review a few weeks ago about this vacuum and although I still feel firmly about my review of this vacuum, I have since contact their customer support about my issues and they have been exceptional! Customer Support quickly and easily exchanged ( at no cost to me) my vacuum for a larger Multi-Floor vacuum that works wonderfully. I couldn't be more please with their quick response and the results. I now have the proper vacuum for my household and I am thrilled to be a Dyson customer!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The vacuum clogs every single time I use it. Not sure how good it would work if I could actually use it.
After 2 years it made a weird noise one day and just completely lost suction. I kept all of the scheduled maintenance up.. very disappointing. I returned it as my company sells dyson
Great vacuum. Love it.

Dyson Ball Compact Animal
Nice size, compact, easy to move around. I switched from the full size Dyson animal to the compact. The few complaints I have; the cord. The cord is always twisting and difficult to roll back on to the machine. The extension seems flimsy and doesn't extend as far as the regular Dyson animal - not as sturdy. I wouldn't buy this model again.
I have 5 cats and 2 dogs, all rescues - but all hairy :) Although I have to empty this often and have mostly hardwood floors with area rugs/carpets, this is the best vacuum I have ever owned...period!!
Can't stand up against an Animal
We have a Samoyed, which is a long-haired dog that sheds a lot. Our hope was the "Animal" would live up to it's name... It fell short. I routinely have to de-fur the roller brush (no big deal), but more than that, fur actually gets stuck in between the roller and its axle, which is a huge pain to clean out. In short, my experience with each time I vaccuum involves emptying it 6+ times, de-furring the roller every other empty, and de-furring the axle each vaccuum busting out a screwdriver. This vaccuum could be ok for other people with less furry animals, but it just doesn't cut it for my needs.
I've owned this vacuum for 3 months. Worked well for about a week, but with 2 dogs (Labs) the canister fills within 5 minutes and clogs easily. We are constantly emptying the canister and pulling dog hair from the suction hoses. The suction is incredible and picks up fine dirt very well, but larger particles (greater in size than sand) increase the likelihood of clogs with pet hair. I don't think this vacuum is truly designed for animals as it advertises.
worst vacuum I've ever owned
I have the canister one they called the "animal" that I bought about 3 years ago. It has wheels, not a ball on it. There are so many design flaws to this thing that I am convinced the R&D people didn't ask ANYONE who actually vacuums to try it out. Because the hose is too short, pulling the machine along causes it to "stand up" like a dog on ts hind legs, the floor attachment has the suction holes on the sides (whoever heard of that?) instead of in the front where most dirt is when you vacuum, the small curtain attachment has the rubber edge coming unglued all the time. The actual wand itself is definitely not long enough . Within a week, the floor attachment broke causing the head to keep swiveling around. The only good thing I can say about this thing is the length of the cord. I can't wait for this to break down so I can send it to the dump. I will never again buy a Dyson product. I'm glad I kept my other make of vacuum because even though it is several years old, it still does a better job than this machine. Next time, ask an actual customer to try out your machines in their home for a week and get their feedback. Don't depend on a bunch of men in your R&D department who have never done any housework to know what actual users will think about your product
This is the best vacuum I have ever used.
