Best I have had !
Comments about Dyson Origin Upright Vacuum:
Purchased this DC 40 about a month ago. I have both carpet and hardwood floors. This machine does a much better job than any of my previous vacuums. Is easy to steer and get into corners. Does a great job on picking up dirt on the hardwood floors.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We received this vacuum as a gift from my in-laws. The husband was immediately smitten and took on vacuuming the house most weeks. It took a few months before I was able to experience the Dyson 1st hand. We were both impressed (and a little dismayed) by the amount of fine dust pulled from our not-young carpets. It does an excellent job pulling in the cat fur shed from 4 cats and a fairly good job dealing with loose kitty litter but it's not as keen about pulling in bits of broken cat food. The upholstery attachment does a reasonably good job pulling the cat hair off our couch cushions. Thank you!
I recently bought this vacuum. It is my 3rd Dyson. I had the animal and it lasted about 5 years. The parts started to break, but I do have 3 kids and 3 dogs, so I put a beating on my vacuums. I continue to by Dyson brand because they work well. I like this model, but my only complaint is that the cord is much shorter than the animal vacuum.
Life in a Vacuum
Love this Dyson: The way it handles and moves is poetry in motion; Cleans to the gills and more: Picks up dirt I didn’t even know was there. Easy on and off attachments. But, what I really love about this vacuum is: it is bagless: easy on/off canister to empty and go; click on/click off. This vacuum works great and is easy to use.
Light weight glides very easily and the suction is amazing!!!! I have a 1 year old that puts everything he finds in his mouth so my husband and I decided to spend the extra money on a good vacuum. So worth it! It gets right up to the edge of the wall and carpet and sucks everything up I love it so far!
just one word WOW
After my dyson of 8 years old needed to be replaced,i replaced it with this DC40,And WOW,Smaller, which means Lighter as the old one was very heavy,The Ball lets you go in any direction which means you can go around objects not like the old one just bump into objects. The Power from this size of dyson is so powerfull,my carpets have taken a new look to them.also the extended pipe lets me vac the staires from the bottom,a lot safer.a excellent product, well done Dyson.
Very happy with it, I have nothing but hardwoods & tile. House floors look different, cleaner, a sheen of dirt (I have two small dogs) was there despite my sweeping. The Dyson got it all up. Very pleased. Is there a trick to keeping it from rolling behind me when I extend the tube?
I have had three Dysons. I received this one as a gift for my cottage. With a golden retriever we need to vacuum often. This machine's ability to get into smaller places than my animal Dyson makes it easier to vacuum.
I love this vacuum. I haven't had any problems with it! It does a great job!
4 month in use
This is my first Dyson product and so far it meets the expectations. Pros: - The vacuum cleaner has a powerful suction and it adjusts from hard floor to rug and to carpet seamlessly - It is very maneuverable and easy to navigate around obstacles. - It is far less noisy then my previous vacuum cleaners - The dust bean is easy to empty Cons: - The On/Off button is located right next to dust bean removal button. On several occasions I disconnected the bean instead of turning the vacuum on or off - It does not lock surely in the upright position. I really have to push it beyond 90 degrees to lock it and then check if it really locked. It fell on its back a couple of times because it failed to lock.
