Great Projector with a bit of shortcome
from Dallas, TX
Comments about Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 2030 2D/3D 1080p 3LCD Front Projector:
This projector is really good. Picture quality is clear, 1080p, colors are accurate, 3D really pops, built in speakers is pretty loud, overall a well rounded projector. It's also very bright. The only downside is that I wish the contrast ratio is a bit higher, fan is noisy at the highest settings and there are times while I'm watching something that it will jump to the Epson/Blank screen for about 10 seconds and jumps back to the content.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great unit but ive only had it for around 3 months and it has these annoying vertical green lines that just recently appeared on the screen. I plan on sending the unit in for repairs to epson. Ill follow this review with another letting you guys know how the return process and customer service went.

Simple projector - but with most features needed for home use. Delivers great performance. Slightly noisy.

This projector was perfect out of the box had it for 2 days now, but for some reason keeps telling me my lamp is bad. The projector has less than 8 hours of use. haven't read about anyone else having this problem so maybe it was just me.

I actually didn't buy this projector for home cinema use; I teach Adobe software, and needed a new projector to accommodate the higher resolution on new laptops. "Business" projectors display lousy color -- not good for teaching Photoshop. The color rendering is perfect with this projector, and its support for high resolution content results in gorgeous presentation. But since the projector supports 3D, I bought a pair of Epson 3D glasses and tried that outâ€"wow! It looks like I might be using it for home cinema after all :-)

Big Bang for little buck
from Wallkill, NY
This was a first time endeavor in the projector world. After reading dozens of reviews as well as seeing them on YouTube, choosing the 2030 seemed like a no brainer. I'm in the process of finishing my basement where the 2030 will be permanently mounted on the ceiling. I tested it on a 36 inch stool 14 feet from a wall painted prairie yellow(yes, prairie yellow, a true yellow) It produced an amazing, sharp picture with vivid color almost 10 ft. wide. There was one lamp on with a 75 watt bulb throwing some ambient light but it did not affect picture quality. The 3D feature was amazing. It rivals movie theater quality. Let's not forget the 2 year warranty. I couldn't find that else where. I suppose if you're a techno-geek you could critique the black levels, lumens, lens features, etc. but I found that to be a non-issue because I'm not an electronics critic. Read the reviews. People are saying good things about this projector. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this projector for myself last Christmas (2013). It is my first projector and it replaced a 25" crt. I recently just finished remodeling my living room (17'x18') and wanted a large screen tv to finish it off. Since this is my first projector, I had done quite a bit of research and still had many questions about placement, throw, input lag, etc.. But I pulled the trigger and purchased it anyway. I am beyond satisfied! Currently, I do not have a screen as I simply didn't know what size I would need. Shooting onto the wall which is a goldish color gives a great picture. I was really surprised how white the whites are. Shooting onto a white bedsheet obviously gives better whites and skin tones, but it who needs a bedsheet hanging on the wall, so I just use the painted wall. Placement: Not really an issue. Currently, it is sitting off to the side of the room about 13' back shooting onto the wall opposite the sofa at about a 60 degree angle. The mechanical keystone adjustment squares the picture up nicely. The zoom, although not a large adjustment, allows ample adjustment in the range of 8-10" at this distance. Plus, the projector automatically deals with vertical keystone. 3D: I really didn't care if the tv had 3D or not, but after I got the projector up and running, I decided to give 3D a try. I purchased the cheapest glasses I could find with the same 'Full HD 3D RF' symbol on them as on the projector. I also picked up Avatar-3D. Result... WOW! I don't see any reason to ever purchase another non-3D disc ever again! I will note that upon first setting up the 3D, I did get and error message that my ps3 could not detect my 3D viewing device. But after setting the video output settings of the ps3 (where you set screen size) and cycling power on the projector, all was well and it works flawlessly. With a tv this large, you KNOW you are going to play games on it, so input lag was a concern. Since I only racing games, the input lag of this projector is not a problem. Don't even notice it.
Amazing quality - Replaced my TV!

I was a little iffy about getting a projector instead of a 100'' HDTV. The thought of classroon projectors and a faded image made me think twice. After reading other reviews on projectors, I decided to try this model. I was amazed to see that the picture quality was just as good if not better than my 40'' HDTV. Here's a few features that I was looking for and that my Epson projector fulfilled for me: Clear picture quality despite a bright room and a 100''+ screen size. The built in speakers were not emphasized in the description but they were actually pretty loud. I was worried about that since I would not be able to afford a sound system right away. Speaking of not being able to afford things, I did not have a ceiling mount handy. This is where the Keystoning feature comes in. My projector is on a table aimed at the wall at an angle yet the screen looks like its projected straight in front of the wall. Now I'd recommend anyone to purchase a projector screen in addition to the projector, but as you can see I don't have a lot of money. I used a bare white wall with a bit of patterning in it and the projector still displayed a beautiful crisp image. Being a projector newbie and all, I was suprised with how clear and sharp the image was. Not only was it bigger than my TV but the image was far more crisp. All in all, give projectors a chance to amaze you. And if you have to choose, the Epson 2030 is a great pick. Especially for someone like me that can't spend thousands at a time. Its a better investment in my opinion to get a larger screen and a comparable if not better image than an HDTV. Its also a lot cheaper to replace bulbs than repairing or buying an entire new TV.
