“Epson's workhorse, volume projector, which is why it doesn't seem to go away.” ~ProjectorReviews.com, (March 26, 2013)
ConsumerSearch.com "Best Reviewed"
"...the Epson 8350 can put out plenty of lumens for viewing in a well-lit room and can do so without hurting color performance as much as some other projectors." ~ConsumerSearch.com, (August 2011)
Brilliant image quality requires high color brightness (color light output), and Epson 3LCD projectors have up to 3x Brighter Colors than leading competitive projectors.
One brightness measurement (lumens) is not enough. A projector‘s specification needs to show both high color brightness and high white brightness. If color brightness is lower than white brightness, images may be dark, dull and lose detail. If not provided, be sure to ask for a projector’s color brightness specification.
Get consistent, true-to-life color with Epson, whether you’re projecting images with deep, dark colors or a white screen with text.
The PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 provides astonishing placement flexibility with a 2.1x zoom ratio and vertical and horizontal lens shift (without image distortion). Additionally, there are two HDMI 1.3 ports for flexible connectivity options. The PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 works with any blank wall or screen and projects DVD movies up to eight times larger than they would appear on a 40" widescreen TV. In fact, it displays an 80", widescreen image from just 8 feet away, or a 120" image from just 12 feet away.
Epson high-definition projectors take home theater entertainment to a whole new level, featuring color and detail that’s sure to win rave reviews from friends and family alike. With the vivid realism of Epson 3LCD technology, these projectors will make your home the hottest ticket in town. Experience movies, games and sporting events like you never have before. Designed by the world leader in projectors, these models are the ideal choice for amazing home entertainment that all are sure to enjoy.

Beautiful Picture, unreliable lamp
I love using my projector for movies and for PS4 gameplay. The picture is beautiful. Unfortunately, the lamp doesn't perform for as long as it should.

best priced high-contrast projector
from Flossmoor, IL, USA
The 1080 resolution is excellent, but the 50k:1 contrast is what makes the image so beautiful (in a dark room.) Other projectors with this level of contrast cost double. The epson 5025 has even better contrast, but also costs double. The epson 2030 is only about 20% cheaper, and with 15K:1 contrast, does not have an image that is as satisfying. Also like the lens shift, can have projector to the side, not right in the middle of the sofa where you might bump it. Wish it was small like the 2030, and had the built in sound, but best deal out there for an image that is as good as a flat screen, and much bigger.
WOW...What A Great Home Theater Product !!!

I thought this Epson 8350 Projector was excellent before; but I thought I would have a close friend who is a media professional calibrate it for optimum performance, WOWWWW!!! Unbelievable !!! It the most defined, realistic picture I've ever seen in a home theater/media setting !!! Superb !! The depth of field and detail make the view appear as if you can reach out and touch the picture subject and scenery!! Thanks for engineering such a wonderful product!
Great picture for the price
from Poughkeepsie, NY, USA
People are in awe when they see the screen size and quality of the picture. It gives you that true Home Theater feel. All for the price of a medium sized big screen TV. Bigger screen size than you could ever imagine.

Beware of bulb burnout! - PowerLite Home Cinema 83
This is a great projector. However, I have had it about 1 year and am already on my third lamp bulb! The bulbs are expensive and seem to burn out quickly. We use the project around ~25 hours / week so it is not due to excessive use.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 1080p 3LCD Projector
from HOUSTON, TX
THANKS. EPSON WOW FOR THE PRICE I CAN'T BELIEVE IT VERY GOOD QUALITY.
from Seattle, Washington
We have the 8350 projector ceiling mounted in a theater room. Distance to 110 inch screen is about 9 feet. We have used the projector for a about a year and a half now. The image is bright, even with some window shades open. Remote is easy to use, and intuitive. Adjusting the lens for screen size and focus is very straightforward, and it seems to hold focus without the need for adjustments. Family who use remote seem to figure out functions easily. My only critique would be that on HDMI setting the aspect ratio cannot be changed. I am not sure why this is, but it limits our ability to shift formats. On rare occasion we receive an error message when turning on the projector. But this is resolved by unplugging and restarting the projector. This happens maybe 10% of the time. On whole I am satisfied with the 8350 and believe it is a good value.
My Epson Projector for Home Theater
This 8350 is an excellent product. Finding a lamp that burns out due to time used is another question.
Exceeded My Expectations
Had very high expectations based on other's review but this thing really performs. I couldn't be happier. I have a great home theater now. It was super-easy to set up and I was able to start watching movies within a half hour. Only drawback is constant stream of friends, neighbors, and family wanting to come over and watch HD movies. I'm going broke on beer and chips!
