Comments about Friedrich 7,800 BTU Window/Wall Slide-Out Air Conditioner:

The only con for this product is that it might be a little heavy for one person to install. The last Friedrich I bought from PC lasted 10 years and probably only needed more freon to still work. You can spend less now,but in the longrun you'll spend more.Plus all the rebates help to make the price a little more palatable.

Installed in my basement through wall. I've only had it for a few hours, but it cools to where it needs to be and is very quiet. I am very pleased so far with this unit.

Comments about Friedrich 7,800 BTU Window/Wall Slide-Out Air Conditioner:

I absolutely love this ac unit. I bought it to replace an older Frigidaire 6,000 BTU which struggled to cool my room situated on the top floor of a 3 floor unit apt complex which gets a considerable amount of sunlight. This unit has been tested in 90 degree weather but only a few times this year and it cools extremely well. My only complaint is the difficulty in attaching the side shutters. The screws were difficult to firmly fasten as if they didn't fit properly. Also, the dry mode and energy saver modes can be a little disturbing to a light sleeper as the fan and compressor cycle on and off.
