Piece of Junk

Comments about Frigidaire Gallery 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Smudge-Proof Stainless Steel:
My wife and I bought a newly constructed home 1 1/2 yrs ago and it had Frigidaire appliances throughout. Everything else works fine, except this POC dishwasher. It will never finish running its cleaning cycle. Sometimes the dishes are clean and sometimes they're not - and they're never dry! I might as well wash everything by hand since I have to hand dry everything. And of course, the warranty doesn't apply because we were not the original purchasers. Going to buy a new dishwasher this weekend - not a frigidaire!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Having read the reviews, I know this is my washer. I was hoping to find some info and surprise, surprise, many people had the same problems I did. The detergent holder does not open anymore, I have the same electrical issues where I get an error message halfway through a cycle and no matter what LOTS of build up on my dishes. I am looking for a new washer now that I know it's just the way this machine is. On the postive side, it is one of the most quiet washers I have ever owned.
Worked great for a year & a half, then the electronics stopped working :(. Out of (one-year) warranty; costs more to fix than to replace, so I got a new DW - different brand.
Happy So Far
This dishwasher works well. I have tried several different settings. That being said, I always rinse my dishes & use rinse aid, in addition to having a whole house filter. I also don't use it for pots, pans or cutlery, preferring to do those by hand due to the expensive nature of those items.

We purchased this dishwasher in April 2014. It was incredibly quiet and worked very well until About three months later. It stopped excepting rinse agent and the detergent door would not open. Build up on all dishes and never got clean. And it up running the cycle several time or reverting to handwashing. Finally called customer service and since it was under warranty we've had to service employees out to replace the detergent and rinse agent part. Customer service for maintenance was prompt and the washer seems to be behaving better now although there is a chance it is the electronic board that is bad if the problem continues. Don't think the machine is fundamentally awful but it may be having a hard time with our Arizona heart water. The rinse agent is a must. Hopefully the machine does not break down again before the warranty it wears out. Generally satisfied but do not understand why something so Niewood break so soon.
