Comments about Frigidaire Gallery 27.64 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Smudge-Proof Stainless Steel:
I now have a replacement appliance as the first had freezer and ice making issues. From V.1 I noticed there is a fix to the ice cube drawer attempting to prevent cubes from falling. The only way to retrieve is on hands and knees and at age 70 not a recommended practice. Suggest you work on ice cube cut off options so you can insure cubes don't get end up on the bottom. I will say you stood behind your product and were quick to agree to replace.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Ice maker does not work.
from Torrance, CA, United States
I bought this a month ago and I regret not having an ice maker that functions. It has been so very hot here and I have been at a disadvantage with my new refrigerator.
I have had this refrigerator for two months ice maker hasn't worked since I bought it. Repair has been there 3 times, and now I'm waiting for them to come and replace the water filter, ice maker, and something else.
Love this so much I bought it twice!

My husband and I picked this fridge for our first home and loved it so much we bought it again for our second a few years later. The fingerprintless stainless steel is awesome, I don't worry about fingerprints all over our fridge.
Decent fridge for the money
My first new fridge in about ten years and I'm enjoying it. I'm still not quite sold on the french door fridges these days but seems that's all you get in the market. The interior lights are bright, shelves are easy to re-position if needed and the doors can hold plenty. My biggest criteria was that the bottom freezer door opens up ALL the way open and this unit accomplishes that easily. I'd love it if we had a choice of purchasing a narrower ice tray as I'm not a ice in my drink person and would rather use more drawer storage space. Observation: the condenser fan is constantly running so if this bothers you, this is not your fridge. The noise level is acceptable but I'd prefer to be quieter. My previous unit would start/stop but this unit is always making a sound. So, do your due diligence prior to purchasing. Secondly, if I close the left door first, it'll make a THUD sound as there doesn't seem to be any type of cushioning. If you close the right door first then the left door, this isn't an issue. I performed the same action at the store with a brand new fridge, same deal. Kind of odd I thought but oh well. This is a handsome fridge and looks good in a kitchen with other SS appliances. The interior features of this fridge is common with all the other fridges in the market, in this price range. Let's face it folks, you can only make shelves and drawers inside a given volume in so many ways!! I do like the smooth action of the vegetable drawers vs other units.

We bought the FGHN2866PP model due to height restrictions in our kitchen, its design, and capacity despite warnings to avoid from Consumer Reports. The first refrigerator when set at 33 and -6 degrees in the refrigerator and freezer respectively (lowest possible settings) kept the top refrigerator shelf at 48 degrees and the bottom shelf at 40 degrees. The freezer temp was ok, but the ice maker made a tommy gun sound when filling that could be heard throughout the house after 5 days of operation. Frigidaire replaced the first with a second identical model. The 2nd refrigerator did a little better but only kept the top shelf at 42 to 44 degrees and still made the tommy gun sound after 5 days of operation. All temps were measured in the AM upon first opening. The door display never showed that the actual temperature differed from the setting. For food safety, refrigerator temps should not exceed 40 degrees. Frigidaire refunded our money and we bought a different maker's model after we took down a shelf in our kitchen. It was a I month ordeal from the time of initial purchase. The one thing I can say positively about the experience is that Frigidaire does stand behind their products when failures occur, and the experience was hassle free - i.e., no pushback from the company. I think the new energy standards are the source of the problem with this model.

We like the size and all the lights that are inside. However, we have had a problem with the handle on the freezer portion. This has come loose a couple of times even after tightening with the special wrench.
