Frigidaire 38 Bottle Free Standing Wine Cooler
from Prunedale, CA
About Me Aspiring Enthusiast
Comments about Frigidaire 38 Bottle Free Standing Wine Cooler:
Very pleased with product build quality and refrigeration performance. Shelves need to be thinner to prevent bottle scraping, wooden box provided for use on bottom shelf was removed to allow stacking of wine bottles on bottom which increased capacity of unit to 44 bottles.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Worst appliance i ever bought
from New Jersey
The worst designed product ever. And Frigidaire customer service doesn't care. The drawers don't open which I knew when I bought it. What I didn't know is that wine bottles don't fit easily - at all - into the shelves. I buy "normal" wine from regular wine stores. There is nothing irregular about the bottles. You have to pry them in and out of the shelves and even then it is difficult because the shelves, in addition to not moving, have upper and lower lips on the ends - giving less room to put bottles in and out. The warmer temperature is on the bottom for red wine. Everyone knows heat rises so it rises to the cold above and the compressors stay on all the time. Why wouldn't the put the warmer bottles on top? Did nobody at Frigidaire take basic science classes? What's worse is that Frigidaire says that my comments simply amount to my not liking the product instead of it being a product that does not cool to dual zones - the temperatures fight each other until the entire inside is the same temperature. There is no division between upper and lower so the warm air floats to the top. Insanely stupid. But what's worse is that normal wine bottles do not fit. The only ones that fit are the tall skinny ones that are usually light white wines. Pathetic. PC Richard should stop arraying his product immediately.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Temperature settings do not work properly; either the read are too cold or the whites are too warm. One of the settings will work, but the other setting stays 10 degrees off setting. Service man came out and made some adjustments, but holds temps only if empty. Once bottles inserted, the temps get bad again even after several days. Called service again; they want me to take back to seller instead of bringing new product to house

We just installed this unit a couple of months back in our new home. It has very nice features and it's appearance is clean and attractive. The only problem of notation is that you cannot install this unit under a cabinet and it must be freestanding without being built in at all. This means that it is somewhat noisy but not too overwhelming.
So far - good
I've only had this for a little over a month. It seems to hold a constant temperature, although I haven't used a thermometer to check it's accuracy to the readout yet. No major complaints as of yet. It is hard to pull out trays with bottles in them, which makes it hard to see bottles at the back of the tray. If it holds up, as opposed to the last brand I bought, I will be more than pleased with it.
Wine cooler review
I looked at several units and decided to purchase this one. I liked the fact that it had the two zones. I do find that sometimes there are bottles which are too big for the tray and they need to be wedged in, but this is not a common event.
Seemingly worth it's price but unfortunately my unit is louder than preferred and makes loug gurgling sounds when compressor engages. Other than that, it works.
Had mine for about 4 months now Pro: Quiet, attractive, stable temperatures Con: Can see it on the power bill, racks are *very* tight and some bottles just wont fit (prosecco & champagne type whites). Also bottom rack of reds only hold 1/2 bottles which they didnt tell you!
