Comments about Frigidaire 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner:
use in a small den that is warmer than the rest of the house. Works quite well.

About Me Quality Oriented
I put this unit in my bedroom and at one point I thought it was too small, immediately I could feel the room cooling down and this was one of those hot days in New York..
Worst A/C we've ever owned
from Lynbrook, NY
We bought this unit to cool our bedroom since the unit we had wasn't doing the job any longer. We had a 5,000btu unit & this is a 6,000btu unit so we thought it would definitely do the job, especially after speaking with the salesman & telling him the size of our bedroom. This was a big mistake. Not only does it NOT cool our bedroom (& we do NOT have a large room), but it's noisy & keeps me awake for quite a while after I go to bed. The only way to stay cool in our bedroom is if the unit is blowing directly on us & the controls of the unit rattle & vibrate loudly. If I still had the box from this unit, I would have brought it back the day after I bought it. Under $200 & you definitely get what you pay for. Thought being a Frigidaire, it would be a quality unit. Was I ever wrong!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Strong and quiet! Great value!
from Westchester, NY
Got this for a bed room and very happy. Much quieter than the comparable Sharp model and cheaper too. (Bought and returned the Sharp first because it was too noisy.)
Too much whizzing
from New York, New York
When I called Frigidaire about this annoyance they claimed it was due to condensation. However, when the the fan is only on, the a/c produces the same noise. So the noise has nothing to do with condensation or the water that is being pulled in with the air. The other reason they gave me is that the more energy efficient the a/c is the trade off is that it is noisier.
