Comments about Frigidaire 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner:
Pennsylvania didn't get much of a "summer" this year. But we had plenty of hot and humid stormy days, and this unit did an excellent job keeping us comfortable.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I chose this for the features, brand name, and energy star rating. Last year I ran a 5500 btu that was SUPPOSED to be an Energy Star appliance, but ended up with electric bills twice as high as the previous summer. I live alone in a small space which ineeds to be cooled by a single window AC. The Frigidaire has performed beyond expectations. I set it on Economy Cool for the summer, and my bills are about a third of last years. To say I'm pleased is putting it mildly. Thank you, Ric
Works Good, Surviving the Heat
By Jim Y
I bought this for room that is often hot in summer sun. It works like it should and cools room several degrees. It does stay running just because its hot outside. The only thing I don't like is the condensation water that is built up inside. Even tilted the water is settling inside. There should be a drain hole for water to exit out. Only had unit for 3 months this summer so we shall see if it holds up for next summer.
Does the job
Nice, quiet running unit and does a great job at cooling the bedroom. The only complaint I have is the units design allows a lot of light to enter the room from the sun. No way to block it because it's an outside vent on the unit. Not a big deal for day folks but not ideal for us night workers. Thus the reason for the 3 rating on design.

I had to return the first one purchased as it sounded like a band was playing inside the unit. Then the second one (same model)sounded like a sprinkler was spinning around inside. Electrolux Customer Service offered no assistance--PC Richards was great in replacements to other brands--Problem is in the new engineering design has no outside drain for condensate.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

About Me Quality Oriented
I bought this for my bedroom back in May. I have no complaints whatsoever. Even during our 90+ weather, it kept my room comfortably cool. I was so impressed with the performance of my little A/C, that I bought another, larger unit for my living room.

No I will not recommend this to anyone, I went to buy LG air conditioner but they didn't have so I end up buying this junk. I still have LG AC in the other room which is so quite you won't even notice its on. But this one makes all kinds of noises, the fan is making noise, you could hear the compressor noise loud and clear.
Cools BUT Irratating Noise

This AC makes a noise that comes and goes, and becomes annoying after awhile, especially if you install it in a bedroom. This unusual noise for an AC is not a rattle or clicking, more like some foam or paper is being wisked by something for a number of seconds, then goes away. We have reintalled the AC twice thinking it may be how it's set in the window, but it's not vibrating and is installed correctly. Been told it may be the water build-up in unit being picked up and sprayed inside unit by its fan (poor engineering). Tried tilting it more to ensure water drains but, no luck.

Don't waste your time on this unit, No matter what you read.I'm 58. I bought it. I've had many AC's. This one is one of the worst.

I bought this unit because of the reviews (there were more than one)and the price, and I had a previous model of a frigidaire for years that I loved. It took me a little bit to install, since you have to add the sides yourself and the top bar. It is a lot heavier than my last model. But once I got it in it was nice and quiet.. or so I thought. It certainly cools, however the auto regulate is always on.. Which means it turns off at a certain temperature. So if I want it set at like 72 degrees, it will stop. And then I have to lower the temperature way down to get it running again, and it will turn off immediately again. There is no option to turn this auto regulate off- from what I have found. And also, there was a rattling inside.. It is not as quiet as I had Thought, Not sure if they gave me the floor model or not. But I am thinking I need to return it, it is not normal. Disappointed.
