Comments about GE Cafe 30" Free Standing Electric Range - Stainless Steel:
This range, as with other Cafe appliances, is gorgeous. Seems very well built and performs well.

Beautiful appliance and works great so far. Caveats: 1). The oven panel is far too sensitive, as others have mentioned. The slightest brush up against it and the settings change (which happens frequently when using the cooktop or when you reach for something above the range). 2). The price is prohibitive for the average family budget.

It has good features, especially the cooking/warming drawer, and the convection oven.

Looks great in my kitchen. Slide in needed no adjustments
Love this range

This range was expensive, but was a great improvement over our previous stove. The stove top heats fast and evenly, and we love the dual size elements. The included cast iron griddle works fine. I'd have preferred sides that slope up, to hold butter and oil on the griddle, rather than down, which drains grease and fats. You have to keep the heat *LOW* when using this, or things will burn. The convection oven cooks quickly and evenly.
Electric range that performs close to gas

We have always had gas ranges - last one top of the line and well loved. In this part of Florida gas was not available and we really hated the thought of electric ranges. But after some getting used to and a few burned pancakes we love the new GE range. The warming drawer is a nice bonus plus the 5th burner.

I'm absolutely in love with this oven and all of its features! I have yet to learn how to work it in its entirety, but what I've managed this far...I'm head over heels for! Only disappointment is that my oven light has already burnt out and sometimes when the oven door is open and shut the convection fan is rubbing against the metal casing and making a terrible noise. I should contact them to have it serviced, but haven't had the time.
It has so much to offer

Heats well, cleans easily

I do like the stove. Many options on cooktop for variuos sizes pots/pans. Oven takes a long time to preheat. I do like having the extra oven below.

Overall Good, not excellent. I cook a great deal, 1-3 meals everyday.I love to bake. I looked at lot of stoves. Other than major construction to my kitchen this seemed like the best bet to get more surface area on stove top and the extra cooking drawer. Great features about this stove, extra cooking drawer is a bonus-temp varies & usually need more time than normal but it's good for an apple crisp or pie while dinner is cooking-it's not perfect but it's a great addition- I love the double burners on the left hand side, it's great for a griddle-(NOT the griddle it comes with, that's useless!) and also a roasting pan. The disadvantage of the 2 burners on the side is using them individually, they don't have a lot of power to boil water, etc. My kids are teenagers but if they were younger I would be worried about the touchpad on the front, it's very sensitive and goes on and off very easily!even when you are reaching over to clean. The flat stove top is not as easy to clean as my last flat stove top. The oven bulb has burnt out twice. It's good, not great.
