About Me Casual Cook
Comments about GE Cafe 30" Slide-In Gas Range - Stainless Steel:
We bought this stove 6!years ago, i saw it and loved the design and the style of it and it has been the focal point of my kitchen since......cooking is a breeze, love the simmer burner and also the griddle........the convection oven is awesome, especially at thanksgivng , our turkey cooks much quicker then it use to in our regular stove/oven.........as far as cleaning, yes younhave to be careful with the stainless steel, it will scratch but that is with any appliance....you have to use a nonabbrasive cleaners and i have had no problems, i use a spray cream especially made for stainless steel and and Mr. clean sponge nd it looks as new as it did when they delivered it the first day. As far as the oven, we keep a pan on the bottom in case any drips and if there are we wipe up right away......the warming oven , i love, love love.....i had two ovens in my last stove which was a double , was a caloric.........somi was use to two ovens......this one is fantastic especially at the holidays.........if you are thinking of buying a range, definitely keep this one in mind, you won't be sorry.
Service and delivery comments:
My delivery was peompt , right at the time they told me it would come, the set up was great, the guys who came to hook it up were prompt and very neat and were ver cqreful as to not scratch anything.

About Me Avid Cook
Not mentioned in the instructions: it smokes a lot the first time you pre-heat. It eventually goes away; the Power Boil knob needs an extra push to get it to the simmer setting; it's not exactly a slide-in range, it does not go over the kitchen counter, there's a slight gap. Also, I don't know why the smaller burners are in the back, and the larger burners are in the front. You have to reach over the large pots to get to the shorter ones. I don't think a cook designed the range. Otherwise, I think it's pretty amazing!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
By Brooklyn Cook

This range was defective since day one. I purchased it in November and it's been leaking gas since the first time it was connected. After countless hours on the phone with GE and very poor service (over two weeks waiting for a part that was then installed incorrectly) they finally gave in and offered to replace the unit. Needless to say I'm not looking forward to getting a second lemon.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
