Comments about GE Profile 20.7 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Stainless Steel:
I really wanted this type of refrigerator and GE was the only one who made the size I needed. I'm a bit disappointed in the reduced space and the quality of the plastic drawers. I also think the lack of light in the freezer is a negative. I do love the in the door ice maker/water dispenser. Overall, I'm adjusting to the space and I like it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Poorly designed refrigerator!
I purchased this product through my home builder and after four visits by GE appliance repair, they finally agreed the product was not repairable and allowed me to purchase another model
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I didn't select this refrigerator, as it was already installed in the model home we purchased. It turns out to be a great fit in the middle of our new kitchen, since it is only as deep as the cabinets/counter. I realize that every other refrigerator I have ever owned was tucked into a corner or at the end of a counter next to a wall because they were so deep. My former GE Profile refrigerator had two bottom drawers and the upper refrigerator. But the icemaker was in one of the bottom drawers, which meant opening it repeatedly to access the ice bin. This model has the water/ice cube/crushed ice/light options on the left refrigerator door, and should really save the freezer drawers from being opened so much. After 6 weeks of ownership, my fear that the shelves wouldn't be deep enough is totally gone!! I love the flexible shelf arrangement and the 'drop-down' shelf that allows me to use the extra space or swing it up out of the way when I don't need it. I expect that a counter-depth refrigerator opens up many more kitchen layout possibilities, and I LOVE my new kitchen refrigerator.
So far, so good

This was a replacement for another GE Profile fridge that was unreliable. The extended warranty program replaced it without cost to me (the process for the warranty replacement was not a simpleone but it worked out). This model has performed flawlessly. Looking forward to it maintaining this same level of performance and reliability in the coming years.
Great looking refrigerator

I bought this 6 months ago. Vertical storage for large bottles is very limited and the veggie/deli crisper drawer sticks when you open or close it. Water and ice maker work well. It keeps good temperature.
we just bought this for our new kitchen. we love it. will be a good asset to our new kitchen layout. easy to get in/out. like freezer on the bottom.

I was amazed at the freezer size and capacity. Lots of room in the 2nd cooler for beverages.
Built to FAIL/Poor investment
from Exeter, CA, United States
Purchased five years ago. Rubber seals began failing/splitting at 3 yrs. Compressor (warranty for 5 years) failed exactly 4 months past the 5 yr warranty limit--meaning I basically rented this fridge for $400 year. NOT a good investment! NO MORE GE refrigerators for me! If I could I would give it a "minus" 1 star. While it cooled well, I expected much longer life for the price. Huge waste product for landfill.
