Cooks well, horrible to clean

By Sbjohn

from Santa Barbara, CA, United States

Comments about GE Profile 30" Downdraft:

The black glass surface shows every streak and spill. The control knobs and burners make cleaning a very time-consuming chore. GE's cleaning video shows their induction cooktop with just its flat, uninterrupted surface to clean, but the gas burner model is a real chore if you wanted it to look good. It cooks well.

Sleekest Cooktop Available

By Electraglide

from Camarillo, CA

Comments about GE Profile 30" Downdraft:

We knew we did not want another stainless appliance: dishwasher, ovens and refrigerator were more than enough. Finally we found the beautiful black glass top with stainless trim piece. The design makes for easy clean up. Glass is much easier to clean than stainless. The burners perform perfectly and have a wide range of btu's. It has been our favorite and most used appliance.

The best new thing in gas stoves in 30years

By Gasworks

from Jacksonville, FL, United States

Comments about GE Profile 30" Downdraft:

I have always hated having a gas stove. I bought this stove in March 2014. It is so much easier to clean then my old one. The burners can be turned down real low for a slow simmer. I love it. It was well worth the money.

Perfect cooktop

By ElsWells

from California

Comments about GE Profile 30" Downdraft:

So glad we chose this cooktop! Had looked at and used others, so knew what features we wanted. This one is so easy to clean, as the grates lift off and what's left is glass. Our previous cooktop had ceramic grates that chipped and painted knobs that had worn off. This one avoids both of those problems. The burners adjust easily and smoothly. Couldn't be more pleased.

This product cooks great!

Comments about GE Profile 30" Downdraft:

This is my first gas cook top. I will buy gas from now on. It is wonderful to cook on. It has a lock feature so that burners don't accidentally get turned on. It is also easy to clean up.

Comments about GE Profile 30" Downdraft:

This replaced my older unit when I remodeled the kitchen. I chose the Profile line up as a result of careful research on many units. This was the best unit available with the features I needed.

Mediocre.

By George75

from San Francisco, CA, USA

Comments about GE Profile 30" Downdraft:

No inner ring on the large burner really reduces its usefulness. Extremely hard to keep clean. Not reliable - when you clean it, don't get water under the control knobs... at best you'll temporarily short things out, and at worst you'll have to have the main board replaced for a few hundred dollars (spoken from experience). The knobs are also very imprecise - there's a lot of play in them, meaning you can move the knob from 4 to 6 without actually changing the flame.
