Comments about GE Profile 32" Slide-In Electric Range - Stainless Steel:
Previous stove was gas which I loved. Moved to condo where gas was not available. Bought GE Induction Range and it nearly matches the cooking control of my gas range. Cannot believe how great the Indiction Cook top is for control. Fast burner heat up and down. Very precise. Recommended to a friend and she loves it also. Only issue I have is oven calibration was not correct. Oven temp was much lower than digital read on range top. Needed to be recalibrated. But cook top is fantastic! Matches my former gas range very closely!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The induction top is great. The controls get turned off if you accidentally touch them while cooking and don't notice it. The oven is terrible. Long time to heat up and have to add at least 25 degrees to baking temperature.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Do not buy any GE "convection ovens"
If you are remotely interested in the convection feature of the oven, do NOT buy any GE ranges that advertise convection. Their definition of convection is way off. In a real convection oven, the fan should be blowing the ENTIRE time so that hot air is always surrounding your food. But this one shuts off up to 10-15 minutes at a time. As long as the temperature probe in the back of the oven reads above the desired temperature--the back wall of the oven is always way hotter than the oven air. So if you have any recipes that provide convection oven temperatures and times, they will definitely not work. And basically the convection feature is useless - in fact it makes it much harder to predict cooking times and I've stopped using this feature altogether. The bake setting is much more stable. If you are going to spend the money to get an induction range, then you probably know what you're doing in the kitchen and trust me, you will be disappointed by the "convection" oven. If you are a serious cook, spend a little more and get a better performing (and value) oven elsewhere. As far as induction goes, it is pretty responsive to changing settings, but it's definitely underpowered if you're trying to boil water for pasta and have another pan ready with the sauce. If you use the two front burners on high, the 2 backburners can't really be used because there isn't enough power. Did I mention this thing is impossible to clean? If anything spills there are long crevices between the control pad and the cooktop and the counter top and the cooktop that love to soak up liquids and crumbs. Too small to get to to clean, large enough to pick up crumbs. Very annoying.

Induction Cooktop: Our old range was a glass top, but it wasn't induction. We were always cleaning cooked-on stuff off the top. With the induction top, we've never had anything stick to the surface! VERY easy to clean. The buzzing can be a little strange, especially if you're not using the right size pan on the burner, but you get used to it. This thing will heat up a pan FAST! Love that - great control, too. Seems very precise on the temperature control. Immediate change in the temps when you adjust. Convection Oven: Our oven was about 20 degrees cooler that the settings, so I used the built-in ability to adjust the thermostat and it really made a huge difference. The ball bearing rack is really nice, but you have to be careful that you don't pull it out to quickly - whatever is on it might just keep coming out, the rack glides very smoothly. Love that there's three racks, but we've found that we use the third one on the lowest rails to hold an oven liner. One neat trick we've used to clean this oven is to pour water into the depression at the bottom of the oven and let it steam clean itself. Worked great. Overall Impression: I think we're very happy with this range overall. The induction is amazing, the cleanup is easy, and it looks great. Only drawback would be the price. This is much more expensive than an average electric range, getting closer to high-end gas ranges. The induction was worth it to us. As for quality, the only issue we've had is one touch control that has been on again off again - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But we're hoping GE will take care of it.
Stopped working after 7 months of use. Don't buy.

Nice stove but it broke after 7 months of use. Parts have been sent and the issue remains. Have been without a stove over 2 months now. Suggest you look at some other model or manufacturer
Oven not up to standards
I have had this range for 6 months. Very happy with the appearance and the inducion cook top. Very unhappy with the oven. It takes a long time to heat to desired temperature and then fluctuates by as much as 75 degrees.
Love induction! This was the only slide in induction stove I could find that was just a flat surface rather than being bordered or trimmed out. Love the look and the way it cooks. The oven works great though it takes a very long time to cool down. The bad: control panel died within the first 6 months, was replaced last week, hoping this one lasts longer because being without a stove for a month is NOT fun
Overlooked gem for cooks!

This range is an overlooked gem for cooks, who sometimes think they need a fancy gas range. The induction range has far more precise heat control than gas, heats up faster, and shuts off instantly just like gas. Plus it's easier to clean and doesn't add to kitchen heat load. We have a high-end gas range in our country home and it is much harder to control the flame, especially at the simmer end.

I bought this induction / convection range a little over 6 months ago, and I am still appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail that was designed and manufactured into this range. Induction cooktop controls of temperature is marvelous. and the convection oven really can product a yummy brownie and one heck of a nice pork roast with caramelized crust. Good food make great!!

I've only had this range for a short time, but I love it and the induction technology. The burners heat up quickly and adjust very quickly for positive cooking control. As other reviewers have noted, you will notice a quiet humming sound at the highest temperature settings, but this is not a defect in the cooktop. I've only noticed this sound when bringing a pot to boil, at which point the temp can be reduced for continued cooking, which causes the humming sound to stop (and stops quickly, since the temp adjusts quickly). The oven cavity is large and the hidden heating element makes clean ups quick and easy. In addition, the range is beautiful! Although pricey, this a a wonderful range and I highly, highly recommend it.
