Comments about GE 1.7 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - White on White:
I totally remodeled new home including all new appliances. I fell in love with the slate look therefore my options were very limited. I still love the slate but the all the GE appliances are merely adequate. The microwave is under-powered and difficult to clean. I stainless steel is low grade and show all rubbing lines. Also the touch buttons require force rather than a mere touch. The refrigerator and stovetop oven also have issues.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

So many features
from New Jersey
The new home I bought came with this Advantium oven. At first, I thought it was just a microwave, but the more I use it I discover so many other ways to cook with this super oven. The control panel is a bit intimidating at first. Once I skimmed through the manual and used the oven a couple times, it was easy to pick up how it works.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Love the color and features

Nice features. Love the color. Versatile with a convection bake feature.
Quality control and fit-and-finish issues
Poor quality control and inferior fit and finish for a microwave this expensive. We had to have two microwaves installed, and both had problems.

Easy to use controls. I especially like the night light feature for those late night snack attacks!
Great Controls and Sturdy Construction

The ease of use is excellent. The popcorn button actually doesn't over or under cook popcorn, which makes this a great machine for older children to operate as well. Great look, as well.
Like the looks of it!

Bought it because the convection option would give us a 2nd oven for the holidays when the family is all here!
It looks great and gets the job done!

After looking at MANY microwaves, I settled on this one only to match my other appliances and because of the dual oven. I like this microwave, but don't love it. It's too time consuming to even start the microwave (I was used to push a time and start). Especially when I use it for a timer, you have to turn the dial, then push start, etc. Difficult to explain but when you're baking and want to use it as a timer, it's all about time. When you're shopping for a microwave, be sure to look at the ease of it, not just the looks. Otherwise, the microwave itself works great as does the convection oven.
Problem with door
from Norfolk, VA, United States
I bought this model last year - 4-2015. The door cracked at the handle and continued to crack all the way through to the inside of the door - it was clear that the entire corner was cracking all the way through so GE replaced the door in Feb 2016. "Just in case" I bought the extended warranty, which was good because in May 2016 the new door is again cracking at the handle just like the other one. The crack continues to grow. I love the microwave, but if the doors continue to crack through it will be useless. This unit was properly installed and has not been subjected to anything other that regular use.
