Easy to operate. I like the idea of a remote, It replaced an air conditioner that was built in the 70's;so big improvement. Cools the entire downstairs in my townhouse.
Great GE air conditioner

Very good product! It is a lot more efficient than my old unit. The only complaint is that it is a little louder than the unit it replaced.

I bought this in june and sweat pored off of me for the rest of the summer, did not cool even one room good. Way to expensive. you wouldn't mind paying that price if it kept your room cool, it did not.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
GE AJCQ10ACF air conditioner
By Sally 123
The Inner Louvres on this Air Conditioner Cannot Be Moved to face them Right OR Left. The only Louvres that Move Are The Up and Down. It is important to me to be able to Face The Air Flow Towards The Right or The Left. Ineeded a replacement since the first one was leaking Freon and did not work. Also the controls face upwards on a rounded area, so it is difficult to easily see what temp is set on. Also hard to use the remote because the controls face the ceiling.

I just bought the unit to replace a 16 year old GE air conditioner that died. The new unit is 2,000 BTU smaller than the old one but seems to cool much better. I am very happy with the unit and only have one minor complaint in that the new unit is slightly louder than the old one. Otherwise, a great product.
Flexible air flow, but LOUD!

I purchased a similar unit for my galley kitchen in 1991 because it was the only unit that could blow air straight up rather than at my waist while standing at my sink, plus the extension inside was shallow allowing my drawers to open in front of it. This new unit has the same benefits, plus remote control and higher efficiency. The only drawback is when the outside fan turns on with the compressor, it sounds like a jet engine! I'll get used to it, but it's definitely louder than my old unit. Maybe that's how they increased efficiency - higher air flow.
