Comments about GE 3.8 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
Purchased this machine in Jan 2014 I do normal loads for just me & my husband...started to leak in Oct 2015 called ge repair..probable cause is seal broken and since I do not have warranty, it would probably cost more than its worth to repair...effectively now a piece of junk...your choice
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This was a poor choice for us; it never worked well; we had a 1 yr warranty and PC Richards Service guy said we were using too much detergent. we used a lot less and STILL had trouble with this machine. Today, after 1 1/2 yrs, we have to go out to buy a new washing machine! Can't recommend this one!

Had to get a new washer after six inches of water in basement three months ago. Have always had GE but I do miss my mini basket. No problems and great features.

Bought this washer wanting capacity, features and ability to use traditional detergent. I'm very happy with this washer.

This new water saving model does not wash as good as older models we have owned. Instructions and FAQ's regarding turning the water saver feature on or off does not exist in operators manual.

We buy GE washers as they fit into our laundry - this one does not seem to have the same strength in the washer cycles as the previous one nor does it last more than a few minutes in the wash cycle. If you are not quick enough with adding the clothes, the machine begins to empty. The previous one lasted for many years and it served us well.
Spinning and Other Problems

I find left over soap powder around the tub. The machine does not spin dry heavier items like towels very well.

I bought this washer over 4 months ago and have had no issues with it. It washes my clothes great and my son has even washed crayons in his pocket and those clothes were dried. Once the clothes were covered with crayon (I was soo mad) I re washed them approximately 3 times with different soap and a majority of the crayon was out of the clothes. I was so happy with the result I didn't have to buy new clothes..

I am very pleased with my new washer, extra large steel tub makes it easy for heavy loads or small. Runs very quiet and clothes come out clean. Glad I can open the lid to check inside without losing my cycle and starting over like some do with the new sensor, hate them.
