Comments about GE 3.9 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
THIS WASHER WAS INCLUDED WITH OUR NEW CONDO. WASHER DOES NOT PREFORM WELL IF YOU HAVE A HEAVY LOAD.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Nice washer at first, but high speed spin tears the unit apart when load is unbalanced. First repairs under warranty; we were told that we had essentially a brand new machine since most of it was replaced. Even that didn't last - it's now a useless tub of water.
Overall, a good product.

Have been using this washer for several months. I like the auto-fill sometimes, but really like the adjustable water levels--small for hand wash and deep for blankets/comforters. I also like the deep rinse option to really get all the detergent out!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this washing machine 5 months ago and from day one I have really liked this washing machine. Quieter than my other one, great features and no problems! Really recommend this washer.

I love this washer. It's ease of use and the size of the inside, the choices of water temperature and level of water.

Gone are the days that the consumer could control the time of operation of the washer. Time is not present on any of the controls. Other than water level and temp. you can only choose the pre-selected types of operation of the washer, ie., WHITES: Light, Normal, Heavy, COLORS: Light, Normal, Heavy, and the time of operation will be determined as what GE or the U.S Dept. of Energy has pre-programmed into the selection. Want to wash for six minutes on one load and eight on the next, not possible. Your choice is light, normal or heavy, whatever that means. Want to soak some whites overnight, not possible because the "PRESOAK" is a complete cycle which results in a spun out clothes, not clothes still soaking in soap and water the next morning. Construction is flimsy with what used to be heavy guage steel coated with porcelain for the tub replaced by stainless steel sheet metal about the thickness of a tin can. The only good thing is that this washer has not been made since Sept. 2014.
Overall great products!

We like GE products and find them to have great dependability and durability. We do find this washer and dryer combo to be a little louder than we expected but we are using it in a condo and are not used to condo living yet. We bought the same unit for our house in the past and they took a beating but lasted years.
Clothes are Clean!
from Centennial, CO
I purchased this washing machine after our old washer (non-GE) leaked into the basement from the main floor. I wanted a center-agitating, top load machine which would fit into my smaller space (25 1/2" deep). This machine holds more clothes than my last one and I really appreciate the speed wash cycle. My dryer time has been cut in half, now that I have a machine that actually spins correctly! I had no idea my old machine was so inefficient. The clothes actually 'feel' clean when I take them out of the dryer...I truly feel a difference. I also appreciate the knobs. There are a small bit of electronics to indicate the cycle the machine is on. For us, the less electronics to break down, the better. So, we encourage GE to continue making more knobbed machines with little to zero electronics as they have proven more sturdy for us. I'm hoping that the longevity of the machine matches up to its quality. If so, I plan on keeping this for years and years!
Service Required Frequently

Bought this and had it delivered just before Thanksgiving, it is now the beginning of April the following year and this is the first month without a warranty service appointment. This washer has been rebuilt in my utility room, I think to only original parts are the outside shell.
