Best machine ever!

After having a bad experience with my Whirlpool Duet, I was so happy to come across this machine!..Whirlpool gave me such a hard time when I called and emailed them about the machine smelling…we only had it for 8 years and they said to run a bleach cycle and buy afresh and clean it out every so often..In all my years of washing clothes I never had to WASH the washing machine!. This GE is wonderful…Huge stainless steel tub and very easy to operate. Love that its basic. Did 2 loads of sheets and they came out perfect..no rips.. The spin cycle takes a little longer than my old machine but I noticed that it takes only 25-30 minutes to dry the clothes. All in all excellent machine!

Very Happy with this Washing Machine!
from New Jersey
I bought this washer about 3 weeks ago because my Whirlpool washer(which was more expensive broke) Luckily it was under the PC Richard warrantly and it couldnt be fixed so I was able to pick out another one for the cost of my original. (no cost to me) This one was slightly cheaper but I really love it. I have not been used to the agitator since my last one didn't have one. My other one was as full HE. This one isn't. I can adjust the water as high as I want it. My clothes don't come out smelling because all of the water does drain out. And like some people wrote it does NOT rip sheets. (that was the first thing I tried to wash). It seems alot quicker wash cycle than my previous one which was only 4 years old. It does however make some noise but I did put rubber stoppers under it so it doesn't move around on the floorI washes great. It has many different cycles that are easy to understand. You can open the lid during the cycles. The lid does not lock. I was alittle concerned since I didn't pay that much money that it wouldn't work as well but it has exceeded my expections. And yes I do wash clothes daily. I never wrote a review before but I always read them so I thought I might be able to help someone else out. Bottom line. I love it and would buy it all over again.

The water pump is to small and when on spin cycle, there is to much water in tub which will come out overflow and onto belt. belt will slip and squeak and clothes will be wet and soapy. Tech will come and put larger pump in. I hope they start installing larger pumps before selling any more to consumers. Yeah rite!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Not enough water fill for clothes. Too noisy!

So far I have done 10 loads with my new machine. It is quieter than my dishwasher! I did a lot of research as I was unsure if I wanted a top loader w/out agitator or with. I wanted a basic machine, no need for fancy bells or whistles. This machine is energy star efficient, so it does not use a ton of water, but covers clothes. I have not used the auto-load setting, so I cannot comment on that function. Also, I have not done anything soiled, but the clothes, towels & sheets come out clean. Not a lot of sudsing, with the hydro-wave technology. One con is that you cannot change your mind on what cycle (i.e.:delicate, towels etc.) as the machine automatically drains and you have to start from scratch. Also wish there was a time remaining feature since the dial does not move, only led lights to show fill, rinse, wash, etc.Overall this machine 4 1/2 stars!

I am writing this review to tell anyone thinking about buying this model to keep looking. You think you are doing something good for the environment because it has a water sensor that detects how much clothing you have loaded into the machine and then fills accordingly, we'll, not so much. I have never taken it off of heavy load even for a small or medium loads of laundry and the water is never above the clothes. I have to fill a bucket of water each time the machine fills up to have the clothes be completely submerged which is annoying to say the least and disgusting to think otherwise. My husband is in construction and wears thick protective clothing and I can only wash a few items at a time making what would be 4 loads into 8, not something anyone wants to be doing all weekend after working all week. Save your time, spend a little more a be satisfied knowing your clothes are clean.
