Comments about GE 3.9 Cu. Ft. Top Loading Washer - White:
Too complicated to use, does not get the clothes clean, leaves fabric softener spots on the clothes and white bleached spots on the clothes. It is a nice looking washer.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

TOP LOADING MACHINE WAY TO GO!
from Park Ridge, Illinois
I am so happy with my new GE washing machine. My old one, which was not a GE, was constantly off balance and after every load of towels had to be re-leveled! I would get terrible back pain lifting the heavy wet clothes out of the machine because it was a front loader. My GE cleans my clothes with a minimum of water and has never needed to be re-leveled, no matter how heavy the load! I love the top loading feature. No strain on my back taking out the wet heavy clothes. This was not the most expensive machine on the showroom floor. It was truly a great find and a great value. Thank you GE!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Not as good as my last one

Once you decide on a washing cycle, it cannot be reset or turned off, which makes it very difficult. Also, I find it very loud and it takes forever to finish.
works very well . when the need comes would buy a GE.
Smooth and Quiet!
from Ann Arbor
Just did the family laundry and was very impressed with the smooth, quiet operation of the washer. The washer tub is huge and able to accomodate large loads with ease.
good except for towel/sheet setting

Happy with washer as long as I don't use the towel/sheet setting. Sheets get wrapped around agitator and you have to take it apart to get them out.
initial problem now totally resolved
at first i had a problem with the water not draining out of the washer at the end of the process. the clothes were drenched. a repairman came and told me to space the clothing out better....it did not help. another repairman came and he told me that the sink's drain was clogged and the water was not emptying. that turned out to be it... now i make sure the drain is clear and the washes have been fine. i do notice that when i use hot water that steam comes out of the top of the washer. so i have only now been using cool water. is it okay for steam to be coming out? i really like both my ge washer and dryer. thanks.
