What I expect from GE
from Three Bridges, NJ
Comments about GE 4.0 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer - White:
I live in a condo with only a small cubby (about 26" wide) for a stackable washer/dryer. After my old one died, circa 1986, I figured it was a good time to invest in a good washer and dryer; GE delivered. The same "problems" remain when using a washer/dryer of this size. Small loads only, dryer sometimes has difficulty when drying larger items because there's not a lot of extra room for hot air once you throw in a queen sized bed sheet or two, but all in all it performs better than expected. The only disappointment so far with this product was a missing piece upon delivery, but this was resolved quickly with a call to a very nice woman in customer service. Could I have saved a couple hundred bucks by buying a different brand? Sure. But so far I think the extra money spent has been worth it. I'll follow up with an updated review after I've used it for a few months! Side note: Be sure to purchase some kind of washer cleaning to avoid mildew accumulating in the washer, it's bound to happen on a front loader. (I recommend Affresh)

Bought this unit to match the washer and stack them up. Great size for a couple. Dries the clothes and even a queen blanket in record time. Lots of settings to choose from -- delicates to heavy cottons.

It has all of the bells and whistles of a standard washer, yet fits in my tiny space. It's probably the best washer I've owned.

Only had the dryer for a few days but I love it so far. Impressive little dryer with a good size drying capacity.

I have this washer and dryer for around a month. I am so happy. I like all the options that are available. I had no drying problems with my regular items. I mostly used the cotton and the mixed items programs. I also tried the sensor dry, and it came out exactly how I wanted, dry but not overly dry. I only had a problem when I tried to dry a light quilted blanket. But even in that case I finally chose the timed drying program, and I managed to get a dry blanket in the end. I was slightly confused. With similar machines used in Europe, I remember they recommended mixing large items with a few small things for a better balancing. It is true this must be correct for the washer, but I don't know if this applies to the dryer. Actually the GE manuals asked not to mix large and small items...both in the washer and dryer. I particularly chose these washer and dryer as I have limited space. Unfortunately, there are not many options to chose for under 60 cm width. And the price is higher than in similar larger machines.
Really efficient dryer!

I have been using this dryer for about 5 months. It works very well, dries my clothes quickly. It has lots of settings. I stacked my dryer atop my matching front load washer. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of its higher cost due to compact size which I had to buy to fit in my condo.
So far so good!

I have had my washer and dryer for about 2 weeks. Even washed King comforter.Probably not recommended but turn out fine. Love all the controls. Not too many options out there for limited space. Good purchase.
Nothing is Ever Completely Dry
I bought this dryer in April, and have had a technician here twice to check it I because, regardless of the setting, nothing is ever completely dr.y. Both technicians claim there is no problem with the dryer. However, I am using more electricity than ever before since I have to leave items in the dryer for two of more cycles in order to have everything dry correctly. This has been a real disappointment. The technicians claim there may be a problem with the dryer vent. However, that was cleaned less than two months before I purchased the dryer. Nevertheless, I am having the company that serviced the dryer vent come back to check it again.

Nice digital technology. Packs a punch.

Works great for a small space washer. Don't like that water stays in the detergent receptacle after completing the load.

Bought in March 2015 and five months later, still working. What a concept. Quiet and efficient, it does an admirable job drying the clothes.
