Comments about GE 6.0 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer - White:
I bought my dryer with an extended warranty. I have had the knob replaced about 3 times. It comes loose with the wires. It is not abused just not very good connection and quality. These knobs should be replaced by the company since so many have complained about them. My warranty is out and, of course, my knob is loose again.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Broke in less than three years. Unacceptable for a GE dryer in this price range.

I am amazed how cheaply this dryer is made. The big stainless steel drum was the reason I bought this dryer and that is the only part that has not broken down. The power button has been "repaired" 3x's. The repair constitutes GLUING it back on. Finally got the entire front control panel replaced. But you know the little plastic parts that connect to the circuit board will wear out again. Now the drum won't move - the motor just hums. Service from the local appliance dealer won't be out for 3 days. I had a top loading Whirlpool that lasted 20 years - would still have it if the basement hadn't flooded. Thought I was being green and purchasing a more expensive but energy efficient product, only to discover, yet again, they don't make things like they used to!

The dryer is very quiet and is very energy efficient. I like the model. it's not to big and bulky and fits into my closet area where my washer is kept very nicely. The dryer is simple to use and not a lot of frills which is good for me.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This product was everything I was looking for. It drys my clothing very quickly and is very economical.

I have always had great service out of GE products, This dryer is a little over a year and a half old and it is giving us problems. It will run for two minutes, then it stops. It will restart then stop again after about one minute. There is not any lint stopping it up nor reducing the air flow.
Not happy with this dryer

My landlord bought this dryer in April 2012. I don't use it often in the summer time. The start knob became loose and broke off. A service tech came to look at today and said he had to order the part. ( 5 to 7 day's for it to come in) I am very unhappy with this dryer. Maybe she should of done her research.

Got this after my old Calypso stopped working. The Calypso was a Consumer Reports top-rated when I got it, but this GE dryer works so much better! Dries in a fraction of the time and the dry sensor is terrific -- no wet pockets! Haven't been this happy with a new appliance in many years.
Great dryer except for the time remaining
This dryer can hold any load size that I throw at it- including my king size comfoter! It has a neat button that lets you pick your cycle then make it eco-friendly by automatically selecting the temperature. It also has a favorite cycle button where you can save the cycle that you use the most often. My only issue with this dryer is the inaccurate time estimater. Is always says that is will take about 30 minutes to dry and an hour later will actually be done.
