We have had our GE refrigerator for almost 2 years and it is serving us well. We are disappointed in the service life of our most recent filter. Within 6 weeks of putting in a new filter, we are seeing signs that we need to change it ALREADY. The water pressure is decreasing and the ice cubes are smaller. We have a whole house water filter, so this filter is not the original point of filtration. It is the 2nd point of filtration. So, one would think the refrigerator filter would last longer.

Even though we don't use the water from the fridge often, every time we do. The water is refreshing and our Ice cubes are crystal clear.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have been using this filter for the past 10 yrs. I like to replace it very 3 months but that's just me. It does the job and I am very happy with it,

water filter replacement
By old user
Had to search for this filter. They (GE) apparently changed the model number so my old one did not come up for sale in the initial search. However, once I found this equivalent it seems to work just fine. Took a week to arrive so don't do like I did and wait until the last minute to order it!
Been using them for years

Works well and let's you know when you need to change the filter - usually about every six months in my household.
