Comments about GE 11.6 Cu. Ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator - Stainless Steel:
I bought this when my Avanti stopped working. I have a small galley kitchen and this was one of my few choices that measured 24" or less width... Ideally I wish I could find a bottom freezer as Im on the tall side and the crisper drawers that I access every day seem so low to get at. I kept an extra shelf from the Avanti and am glad I did -- it makes the fridge storage area more useful. I like the door shelves and my only wish is that they had a covered small area for butter. I got the refrigerator in October and so far all is good. One day I didnt fully close the freezer door for a couple of hours and the motor didnt go crazy or anything -- just defrosted and then the drops refroze and took care of themselves. Energy saving not as good as the Avanti, but still good.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Love the space.

This is a great refrigerator for the space we had. It fits in a lot, specially the lower drawers. It is deep and a lot of casseroles go in without a problem. I like it a lot.

We love this fridge. For its small size, it fits a lot in the freezer, its extremely quiet/silent and it looks great! Seems to be very even in terms of the top shelf being equally cold to the bottom shelves.

About Me Casual Cook
This is a very spacious and attractive GE refrigerator, despite the smaller footprint.I needed something at the most, 25" wide, and I wanted that stainless steel finish. I got them both, plus ample door storage for large containers, and plenty of adjustable shelf space, too. The glass is a high-quality touch that lets you see what's doing on the other shelves. The freezer is surprisingly deep, and maintains cold very well. The temperature gauge in the refrigerator unit lets you adjust the amount of coldness you wish. The only problem I had earlier this year was a faulty small control box in the back of the unit that had shut it down twice for several days, and everything defrosted. The repairperson replaced the box, and touch wood, it has been working beautifully since then. I am pleased with it.
Service and delivery comments:
It arrived on the day and time I scheduled it for, and was well-packaged and in perfect condition.

I purchased this because it said it was stainless steel and would match my kitchen. BUT only the door panels are stainless -- the sides are black. Not worth the extra $100!!

Compact yet spacious

This takes up little space and yet holds much. I like the cooling power.

I got this refrigerator for my new kitchen, it has much capacity than I though for such small appliance (24 inches), the glass shelves inside provide a good quality looking. But it is noisy, I live in a studio and I can hear the engine running all the time.

Lots of space for a small fridge in both the freezer and below.
Needed a narrow refrigerator
from Queens, NY, United States
My apartment in NY has a tiny kitchen so the appliances have to be narrow in order to fit. Among the 24" wide refrigerator/freezers available to me, this fit best and has some excellent features including a door shelf that accommodates gallon milk containers. Of course, the down side is that many features seen in larger models are not included and because of the size it is comparatively expensive. Another nice touch is that the stainless steel front is really metal so that magnets stick.
