Comments about Generations® 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner:

I should have followed the reviews on this and other sites. This A/C is very loud. I have it in my living room and I have to turn it up the tv to hear anything. I also have to turn off the A/C during conference calls (when I work from home) because it's so loud. That being said it's a very strong A/C and cools a room very quickly. I bought because it was inexpensive. Next time I am spending more for a quieter one.
FYI I am not sensitive to noise. Loud music etc is not a problem with me but this is REALLY loud.

Comments about Generations® 12,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner:

Needed an AC for my bedroom, which also has a small living room attached to it. I got this AC for both rooms, and it does a great job in the bedroom. The living room remains about 3 degrees or so warmer than the bedroom, but I put a fan in the doorway to help with the air flow, and considering the AC is in the room over its not so bad. Putting it together was interesting: it comes partially assembled, but doesn't mention that in the directions, so I spent about 10 minutes looking for extra parts before realizing the bracer bar is already screwed on.

Now, a slightly negative thing about this is that it does make a bit of noise when the compressor is running. Not loud or clanging, just noticeable. However, for me that's a positive, because I have some loud neighbors and a bar grill that likes to blast music late at night. With the windows closed and this running, its a lot easier to sleep listening to a low hum rather than music and voices. Also, its heavy, but its a big AC: it's going to be heavy, so I'm going to mention it, but not mark it for that.

All in all, I'm very happy with this- it loses a point for the confusing instructions.
