So far a great experience

First HP all in one I've ever bought and I am very pleased. Bear in mind, I don't use it for extremely exotic things, however I tried out the copy/fax/scan/print and had no issues once I figured it all out,,,lol. As far as the WEB connection, I'm not sure how, so I don't know what I'm missing.
Great features but wont print on card stock
from London, Ontario, Canada
This printer sounded great based on specs and reviews. Price point at BestBuy was great. After unpacking and printing a few test graphics, I was stocked that I had found a great printer. Wah Wah Wah My needs require me to print on card stock 90% of the time and this printer just wont do it. Every time I load the tray with card stock, keeping it below the max-paper line, it wont feed the card stock and gives a paper jam error, despite no jam, as no paper even feeds. After some research it turns out the springs in the tray just aren't strong enough to prop up the paper to be fed properly. The only fix, put a couple of sheets of card stock on top of normal paper at a time. This means I'm running up and down two flights of stairs to constantly replace 2 sheets of card stock at a time. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. If I can't find a fix soon, this printer is going back and I won't be buying HP anymore :(

Long time HP user; frustrated with shortcomings!
from Scarsdale, NY 10583, USA
Frustrated and disappointed: 1. The interactive printer screen is hypersensitive, has very small icons, immediately jumps to an icon destination when touched, even when screen is dark, and does not allow customizable preferred options (which is a bug in system, as manual states it should be able to, but instructions do not work). 2. Printer interface with computers is problematic: - From Microsoft Word, I cannot print 2 copies of a document. The printer makes a noise to respond, but will not print. I can only print one copy multiple times. - Printer interface changes between different applications. When sending command to "flip up" rather than "flip over" on Landscape, command is executed correctly if printing only 2 pages (one doubleside). I confirmed this, and retained the settings, printing 8 pages (4 doubleside), for 3 copies. All 12 pages printed as "flip up" although "flip over" was selected. Is this a problem of landscape pages vs. portrait? Why is it only an issue when printing multiple pages? So far, today alone, I have had to shred 24 double-sided printed pages due to this error. This came with a software update that took away the clear option of "flip on long edge" vs "short edge." 3. Came with literature for Instant Ink, and I spent a great deal of time trying to activate it, including a 30 minute waste of time chat with a service person. It seems this model does not support Instant Ink, although the box and paperwork say otherwise. I am fed up with the bugs and work-arounds which keep appearing. Our HP Office Jet 8600 was wonderful, but the ADF died. Newer models have complaints about volume printing not fitting in the printer tray as it is printed. No solutions for my wasted time, ink and paper. Terribly disappointed, and FRUSTRATED, across the board.
Seriously?!? I cannot print PDFs from USB drives?
from Los Angeles, CA, USA
This would have been an awesome printer if it is capable of printing PDF documents from USB drives. Why is it restricted to just printing photos from USB drives? Please tell me you have a firmware update patch planned to fix this issue.
I Replaced A HP8500 office jet after 16 years
This office jet 8710 work as well as the one I replace after 16 years and if that is any consolation to HP Printers I think this product will last just as long Great Printer Great Product . Oh I replaced the Office Jet pro 8500a with this excellent 8710 Thank you HP.
Horrible printing on high quality photo paper
Yesterday I bought a new HP Officejet Pro 8710 AIO printer. It was simple and quick to set up. I needed to print a photo so I loaded a high quality photo paper and the print job was horrible. Was this an operator error or is the HP 8710 not designed to print on photo paper? The advertisements claim it prints photos and that the machine takes specialty papers but does not specifically state that it takes photo paper. Can someone help?????
Great printer. Upgraded from an HP 6500.
Very happy with our purchase. Great copies & documents printed directly from computer files. Tough to tell the difference from laser printer documents. Highly recommend.
