Comments about Hewlett Packard HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Wireless Printer with e-Print Technology:
I have had very good luck with HP printers and have had an HP Deskjet 930C with an HP JetDirect in operation for over ten years, maybe more. Not a single problem. Ever. When I walked past this item in the store, I thought it was too good to be true! It seemed to have everything you could ever want. I jumped on it and immediately bought it.I should have checked the web. I have had a lot of problems with it since I got it home. The main issue is that the printer's web server doesn't work. At all. Your browser will hang if you try to connect to it and you'll need to close the window. This means that you must go over to the front panel and configure EVERYTHING from there.I had to configure a static IP address and put in a Wireless password, which was a little tedious. I had problems typing on the glass and kept making mistake. There is also a big line of icons to scroll through on the top for web sites that don't make any sense. You can't however, do anything about changing the printer's sleep interval from the front panel. And the printer doesn't do Wake-on-LAN, either. That means that, if you want to print something and you haven't printed anything in a while, you have to get up, walk over to printer and GENTLY tap the power button to wake it up. It takes a while for this to happen. And you have to touch the power button JUST RIGHT or you won't wake the printer up, but rather power it down, in which case you will really wait during the power up cycle. The HP printer drivers for Windows 7 time out and don't recover when the printer is sleeping. If you've made the mistake of printing first and waking later, you're out of luck. The only option you get on the pop up window is to cancel, not retry. You've got to print ALL OVER AGAIN.That is, if you even can. If you've closed the window or the browser won't reprint the page, you've just lose your print. Forever.I plugged the HP DeskJet/JetDirect back in and use it when I don't have time for a long warm up. What a waste...On the plus side, I've verified that outbound faxing does work and that scanning works also, although it is cumbersome. But the color is great and I REALLY like the duplexing, it saves me paper which means I don't have to reload so oftenThat's good because the act of loading paper is MOST difficult. The paper tray is very fragile and must be delicately removed VERY carefully to keep it from wedging. And you have to jiggle the tray just right get it back in or it won't go in and the printer will choke. Don't dare push it--it will crack. Frustrating.I don't know anything about receiving a fax when the printer is sleeping--I'm not hopeful and I will need to do this.I can't believe that a big, established vendor like HP with such great products would have let this printer ever get past basic quality control and out to the retail market. It's baffling.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

About Me Infrequent User
I honestly don't use my printer that often, but I do enjoy this one the most out of all the printers I've had thus far. I definitely have been spoiled by the "printing over wi-fi" technology, but i was recently introduced to "air printing" from my i-pad and i-phone via this printer and I love it!!! The printer seems to print very quickly and the photo picture quality is amazing. Although I don't print much, I would suggest people checking this printer out to see if it would fit their needs.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
