Comments about Hoover Anniversary Edition Upright Vacuum:
Lightly used after 1 yr the self propel stop working. This vacuum is very hard to push due to the weight.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Love this vacuum! It actually replaced an older Hoover. I have had Hoovers for 40 years . They never disappoint and just get better. Love the bagged!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Best value for the money in an upright.
This is my second. 1st still works. Great value. Got to go with bags. Love the self-propelled feature.
Motor gone after 4 years
Last vacuum I had lasted 15 years with four household members. Bought this Hoover when it had to be replaced, good suction, but very heavy. I could barely carry it up and down the stairs in my tri-level house. Had switch replaced at 3 years, then at 4 years the switch wouldn't work again. Took it for repair (again) and was told the motor was bad and not worth repairing. There are only two of us living in the home - vacuum used less than one time per week -- and the motor blows!!! I'll never buy another Hoover again.
This is my 3rd ...
This is my 3rd Windtunnel. All 3 have been fabulous! The first one i lost in a household break-up. The second one finally fell apart after 10yrs. The 3rd just had its belt changed today after 5yrs. Im thinking of buying another refurb just to have an extra one on hand. When you find something you like, you wanna stick with it.
Changing the Belt
from Orange County, CA, United States
This is my second Anniversary Edition Hoover (self-propelled feature is great), but changing the belts on both has been a painfully difficult ordeal. The latest effort had me soaked in sweat and actually bleeding from under a thumbnail and index finger. (Belts are from Hoover and their number is 38528-035.) I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this difficulty. I wonder if there's a belt with a slightly larger circumference that'd ease installation. Finally, I do many projects with my hands, so it's not weakness that's the problem.
Is it possible to love a vacuum cleaner?
from Oklahoma City, OK, United States
I'm as close to loving this one as is possible. Bought almost 2 years ago and still working great -- no problems! The first time I used it in my home, for 3 hours straight, and was amazed that the bag was FULL before the second hour. Pounds of dirt and sand were removed! IMPORTANT to note is we bought this at a small independent dealer who assembled it for us (no charge) and they DEMONSTRATED how to change carpet heights and switching from carpet to bare floors (tip the vacuum slightly forward before making the changes), and also to NEVER lift it by the handle (which is where the forward/backward "clutch/switch" is located. Also they demonstrated how to disconnect the hose for attachments, how to change filters, and so on. I think these instructions from the dealer contributed to my continued very high satisfaction with this model. I would highly recommend this model to anyone.
I love my wind tunnel upright!!
from God's Country NH
I had my last wind tunnel upright for 17 years and finally had to replace it. I was do glad to see that Hoover still made the wind tunnel upright. It is the only vacuum I will own.
Too much money, so many problems!
from Columbus, OH
I've always had a Hoover, so i didn't think twice about buying this unit. It had attachments we wanted for our dogs. Self propelled broke, and now if feels like pushing dead weight. Then attachment that we were excited about had problems, so I gave up. Outside of warranty, so now I'm stuck with either replacing all these parts, or purchasing new unit.

Have loved and still love my Hoover Self Propelled
from North Dakota
My UH50000 Wind Tunnel is going on 5 years old and today decided I should replace the bristle bar as it is a little worn. I've never had any problem with this vacuum. I have used a Hoover self propelled wind tunnel for many years and am on my third one. I have a Jack Russell Terrier that sheds profusely and the Wind Tunnel sucks the hair up so easily that I just know it is also getting that ground in dirt he brings in the house. It is the best vacuum! I had ordered a hard floor brush attachment with my previous Wind Tunnel and wanted to order another one. Apparently Hoover isn't making this attachment any more. Thank heavens it fits on my newest Hoover. I surely recommend that they make it available again as it is the best thing for cleaning hard wood, tile and vinyl floors! Please, please, I would like another one for my summer home vacuum.
