Stopped working after 3 months
from Texas, United States
Comments about Hoover Enhanced Clean Disinfecting Steam Mop:
This thing stopped working after 3 months of bi-weekly use. Poor value from Hoover. Disappointing that I now have to buy another. It wont be a Hoover.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Worked great for 2.5 years, now leaks...
This used to be our favorite steam mop, but now it is sputtering and leaving large drips from the bottom of the main tank area. It's not frustrating to mop because I have to constantly go back over missed puddles on our hardwood floors. All our other vacuums are hoover, so it's a bit disappointing to think they'll end up with issues just after their warranty ends.
The first time I used ...

The first time I used this it worked great. Now the second time it won't steam. What a waste.
I love the mop just one problem

I love this mop, I just wish I could find the cleaning solution without having to order it from Hoover. Is there any other solution that would work?
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The best steam mop ever !
from Daphne, AL, United States
I got a great bargain when I purchased this steam mop. I have had several steam mops over the years and none of them have been so user friendly, lightweight and maneuverable as the twin tank. It takes no time at all to heat up and start it's task and the floors are no longer greasy feeling and they smell great after I have used the twin tank. The cord length allows a great deal of coverage before having to change to another socket and the cleaning pads stay in place. Great product, great price, great design - love it !!
worked great, then broke

My wife loved the mop, but then it just quit. The light comes on, but no steam. I took the cover off the unit and found the mounts that the trigger valve is secured to (by two screws) had both broken off. The are very thin plastic tubes (part of the molding) and look to be poorly designed for the purpose. Hoover should look at this and consider beefing up the valve mount support.

I bought this after we took out all of our carpet and put down wood. When i use it on my wood floor the floor dries streaked, I have tried plain water, vinager and water, and cleaning solution, same results. Does this work better on vinyl, than wood?
love my steam mop

I bought my steam mop 4years ago. We were living in North Carolina and had red clay soil. My white vinyl floor was turning red. Bought this and was absolutely amazed it took up the red discoloration and I had my nice white floors. I just purchased a new steam mop because when we moved the movers dropped it off the back of the truck. I love my steam mop.

I bought this to use on my hardwood floors. They're only on the main level of the house, about 1000 square feet. They get cleaned every two weeks. I don't think I've had it any more than a couple years and it gets only light use. But, it was very disappointing to have it working one time, then not the next. I took the tanks apart to see that there was nothing that could have caused a clog. I re-installed them, plugged it back in and tried different settings. I don't think the motor is jammed. Instead, it appears to be a problem with the on-off switch.
Hoover Twin Tank Steam - So/So
I have mixed feelings about this product - perhaps my hopes were too high? First, this did do a better than average job cleaning the ceramic tile and linoleum flooring. When used on hardwood it seemed to "streak" my flooring, perhaps from where the holes are in the pad? Other than the streaks though, it did a good job cleaning the hardwood. I did not use solution on hardwood flooring. Things I liked: the long cord, the triangular shape which reaches in otherwise hard to reach spots, it did do a decent job on the floors, it does heat up quickly and produce nice steam throughout cleaning process, and I like the way it stands upright and has a little tray to set in while not in use. Things I did not like: It definitely left behind a good deal of water on the floors, and it took quite a while to dry. The solution made floors sticky. It is absolutely painful holding the steam button down (seriously not a good feature), but I have not yet tried the velcro suggestion.
