Hoover Twin Tank Steam - So/So
Comments about Hoover Enhanced Clean Disinfecting Steam Mop:
I have mixed feelings about this product - perhaps my hopes were too high? First, this did do a better than average job cleaning the ceramic tile and linoleum flooring. When used on hardwood it seemed to "streak" my flooring, perhaps from where the holes are in the pad? Other than the streaks though, it did a good job cleaning the hardwood. I did not use solution on hardwood flooring. Things I liked: the long cord, the triangular shape which reaches in otherwise hard to reach spots, it did do a decent job on the floors, it does heat up quickly and produce nice steam throughout cleaning process, and I like the way it stands upright and has a little tray to set in while not in use. Things I did not like: It definitely left behind a good deal of water on the floors, and it took quite a while to dry. The solution made floors sticky. It is absolutely painful holding the steam button down (seriously not a good feature), but I have not yet tried the velcro suggestion.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Cleans but not Durable
from Minneapolis, MN
Had this for a year and enjoyed it for the most part. Found the solution left the floor with a minor stickiness to it. The floor was never sticky before and this goes away. The product never stood straight up like the pictures and easily fell over with a minor touch. After 3 falls the frame which holds the solution tank broke so now it's useless. Cleans well. Temporary sticky floors. Tipsy device.
do not last
from Callander, ON, Canada
I purchase my mop only 3 months ago and no longer working already. I wash my floor one or twice a week, so not much usage. Was washing great when functioning.
Failed after one use
from Northern Virginia
Purchased just over 30 days ago (off course - so now it cannot be returned). Worked perfectly one time, then failed to heat when attempting to use it a second time, even though the lights say it is "ready for use." Given the number of people seeing the same issues, it suggests a significant design and or parts supply issue that Hoover should resolve. .
Good while it lasted
I bought this steam mop on 12/13/12. The only complaint that I had was the tube for the solutions tank would constantly become loose. Other than that, the mop mostly worked fine. I only used the Hoover solution and often diluted it even more than the manual indicated. I did not like to have a sticky residue left from cleaning. The clips that hold the solution tank broke this week. I have jury-rigged the tank by slipping large rubber bands over it to keep it in place. So disappointed that this broke. Time to look for a replacement steam mop. I liked the triangular shaped head, long cord, how it can stand upright and how quickly it heats up. However, I think it should have lasted a bit longer.

Needs different pads
from Grand Junction, CO
I have both this and a Shark. I like the way the head swivels on this one, but the pads are useless. Shark makes much better, thicker pads. I cleaned with the Hoover and there was no dirt on the pad. I then went back over it with the Shark and the Shark pad was black with dirt by the time I was done. I also don't like the way you have to hold the trigger on the Hoover the whole time to make steam. I get a cramp in my arm
Great when it works!

I bought this steam cleaner approximately 6 months ago, using it on the average of once every 2 weeks. Today, it wouldn't "steam" and I am totally frustrated. I trust the Hoover brand, but this is not acceptable. It was great when it worked, and it shouldn't have "died" after 6 months.
Much better than my previous steamer
from South Carolina
I bought this after a lot of research, and it is really one of the nicer steamers out there. I like the triangular head 100% better. It stands up without falling over! It also heats up so fast which is great. It also stores in a small space, actually between my clothes dryer and the wall. The pads are machine washable but I line dry them. There are so many positives for this product that I can just say "go for it". You won't be sorry!!
I would highly recommend this ptroduct

I've had the steamer for over a year now, but the reason I decided to write a review is because I can't believe all the negative reviews. Contrary to other people, after cleaning my travertine floor with just water, it is not only steak free but brighter. Also I don't have to worry about sticky floors anymore, which is often the case, when using regular mop with cleaning solution. And I don't need to spray highly unhealthy chemical all over the house. All in all, this steamer has allowed me to cut the cleaning time in half, since I don't have to scrub and constantly having to wipe after wipe to remove the suds from unhealthy cleaning solutions.
Did Not Last Warranty Period
from Bellihgham, Wa
Had first steam mop for almost 2 years. On/off switch stopped working. Took it to authorized repair shop. Not able to be repaired. Hoover replaced with new one. This one lasted 9 months and then stopped heating up even tho' on/off switch lights up and "ready" light is on. Hoover will not replace this one, even though it is still within the 2 year warranty for this second mop. Very disappointing. It is a great steam mop for hardwood floors because it has just the central jet, and you can control the amount of steam released. Wish it was better made and lasted at least the full 2 years that it is warranted for. I will not purchase hoover products again.
