About Me Everyday Drinker
Comments about Keurig My K-Cup Single Cup:
I think Kerig knows how bad this filter is and it just doesn't work well. I think you should come up with something else for all of the millions of customers that love your machine and their pods but find it pricey and would like to use their own coffee now and again. But with a product like this, you make it immpossible. Can't you get someone to figure out how to make a filter work?
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I Need An Education !
from Richmond, Virginia
I am having the same problem with my 3 piece reusable filter as another writer, see comment that follows mine. Further, when I check the used coffee, it appears the water has passed through the coffee so fast that, the coffee is in great part, still dry. Only the coffee around the hole or tunnel is wet. The previous users comment was:- "Basically the Keurig pushes the water through the machine too fast for the coffee to actually brew. When I look at the inside of the K cup after use you see the water basically jets through the coffee leaving a kind of hole."What can I do to resolve this problem ??? ---Rock
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Here's what I do.

About Me Casual Drinker
Take one of the genuine K-cups (not a generic store bought one) that you used and pull the aluminum foil off the top. Dump out the used coffee and wash the filter out real good. It is not that hard to do. Then put your favorite coffee loosely in it. Tear off a small piece of aluminum foil and cut it down to about 2 inches by 2 inches. Then just cover the top of the k-cup wiht the foil and pinch it around the edges. Then place it in the machine making sure the hole at the bottom (from the used cup) goes over the pin in the machine. Close the lid and make your coffee. It tastes just as good as a sealed k-cup! When finished, just open up the foil, dump out the coffee and wash the filter again. When it gets old, just use another K-cup and save it.

Try this, it works for me
from Coumbia, MO
This cup works great if you grind your coffee very, very fine and fill the basket almost to the top. I have tried to get a good cup of coffee with this product for awhile and finally figured it out. I like a medium roast and grind the coffee almost to powder and it works for me. Give it a try before you give up.

What do you expect?
About Me Coffee Aficionado
What do you people expect from a brewing system like this? And if you're using Pike's Place and expecting it to taste like anything but charred plywood, then you're living in an alternate universe. Also, light or medium or dark ROAST has NOTHING to do with "strength" of brew, which has to do with dosage and grind. UGH. These reviews are painful to read. It's a KEURIG! It's not GOOD coffee. The reason to get a Keurig is by asking the question "how lazy am I?" not "do I want good coffee?"

Trying to save money, this is a waste of time. I will buy a cheap regular coffee maker, to replace my Keurig.

Save your money
We bought this accessory to use our own coffee when we are out of K cups. We have filled it between half and full of Starbucks Pike roast and it comes out terrible. Not even close to what it should taste like. Basically the Keurg pushes the water through the machine too fast for the coffee to actually brew. When I look at the inside of the my K cup after use you see the water basically jets through the coffee leaving a kind of hole. There is a you tube video showing a person inserting a used K cup in between the filter basket and bottom part of the my k cup thus slowing the brew process and making a decent cup of coffee. I should not have to do this with a genuine Keurig accessory. I called customer service and with little help. It is a very well built accessory but functions poorly for a person who likes a medium to stronger cup of coffee. There are other brands out there that are supposed to be much better for about the same price. I wish I had the receipt to get my money back!

Coffee is watery
from Atlanta, GA
I purchased the K-Cup filter in order to be able to enjoy my favorite coffee and save on the cost of regular cups. The coffee that the reusable filter produces is VERY watered down. I tried using more coffee, but it gave the same result. I hope that there is a way for Keurig to fix this problem. Nothing works. The coffee looks almost like tea. I enjoy a light roast, but not water. I switched to a medium roast, but again, same results. Help Keurig!!!

Coffee is full of grinds. My husband likes a certain coffee and that is why I bought this. Am not at all happy with it.

A big cost savings over K-Cups
With this filter, I'm able to buy regular ground coffee, instead of always buying K-Cups. It definitely gives you more coffee for the money.I still keep the K-cup holder close by. I still use K-cups for specialty coffees, and it's fairly easy to switch between the K-cup holder, and the reusable holder. However, it's important to use it correctly. Fill the basket, but don't pack it down (you're not making Espresso). Water needs to flow through the basket. If it's too tightly packed, it will tend to leak from the cap, into other parts of the machine. It's well worth the purchase for the frequent coffee drinker.
