Powerful yet compact!

Comments about KitchenAid 1.5 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave - Stainless Steel:
I replaced a larger higher wattage appliance with this smaller unit. I am very happy with this model. I love the convection features as I feel as though I have a double oven. I was a little concerned that I would be disappointed with its size but it cooks just as well as the larger microwave I replaced.I couldn't be happier.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Easy to use
from Norcross, GA
I bought this microwave for the convection oven feature. While I would like a larger size, it is just right for the shelf space. It is easy to use.

Perfect so far ! It's only been a week so haven't taken advantage of all it has to offer
from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Convection oven / convection ovens are wonderful and I love KitchenAid products! The big draw back to this product is the consistent beeping when both the microwave and convection is complete. This comment is consistent with other reviews. I would be very happy to know if this could be changed or at least in future production this would be removed.

No explanation on how to use the convection part. Buttons hard to push and when you close the door you have to hold the unit because it will move.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Fine as a microwave, horrible as an oven
from St Louis Park, MN
Purchased one as a part of a kitchen remodel, replaced a different brand of oven to add the microwave feature. Yes, the microwave works well, defrost, cook, etc. However, the original unit would never reach baking temperatures. It was replaced under warranty twice(with the first unit arriving damaged, and packaged that way, not the shippers fault). The current unit does exactly the same thing. It will not bake anything, in any of the settings, in a reasonable manner. Can't tell you how much food we have thrown away. Even allowing for 20-30min warmup times and/or doubling recommended cook times, you cannot cook a recipe or frozen food item to an appropriate temperature. Wished we never gave up our original brand of countertop convection oven.
Difficult to use
from Las Vegas, NV
The buttons are too hard to push. The door opener requires too much effort also. My olld microwaves were much easier to operate and simpler. The defrost is a pain in the neck and still a mystery on how to use it.
Problems with S.S. trim kit for Convection Microwave
By Unhappy KitchenAid Appliance Buyer
from Buckeye, AZ
We had our new stainless steel trim kit professionally installed around our new convection microwave oven according to the directions, but its thin stainless steel surface still shows ripples and dents that could not be corrected by the installer or the supplier, even after they exchanged it a few times with other brand new similar trim kit units. This was even more annoying when there was also a dent in the top corner of the door of our brand new KitchenAid French door stainless steel refrigerator that took them a few weeks to correct.
The best microwave; has all bells and whistles!
I still have not learned how to use all the features but this is the best microwave I've ever used. And it's so pretty!
