Comments about KitchenAid 1.5 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave - Stainless Steel:
Horrible unit, do not purchase. This came as an upgrade to my new home, and failed after a little more than a year (of course, right after the warranty expired). Now the repair company is telling me that parts are no longer available for this, so now I need to completely replace the unit. Definitely not another KitchenAid!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Small but powerful
We had it install in the wall, it is smaller than the older one I am used to but works great.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Old Jenn Air gave up the ghost and I am so glad it did. I now have a multipurpose appliance.

Came Defective From Factory
By Buyer in Dallas
from Dallas, TX
I ordered this Wednesday 11-11-15. When I unpacked it today and took it completely from the foam supports and other packing and set it on the counter, I discovered that it was severely dented in the upper left back corner. This was not damage that occurred during shipment - IT WAS PACKED IN THIS CONDITION. The unit works fine so far, but I am so angry I can't see straight. I took two pictures so you can see it from a couple of angles quite clearly. So what was I going to do..call and get put on infinite hold and get hassled to try to exchange this for something not damaged? I think not, especially after reading what happened to others. My husband took the shroud off and used a rubber mallet to take out the dent to a point that I can live with it. I should get a partial cash refund for the trouble this was. Plus I obviously have a defective item. We'll see how the unit works otherwise over time. This is inexcuseable for a product to leave the factory this way. I will post this to Facebook, inform the merchant I purchased it from, and send the information to consumer groups. I will NEVER buy another product from KitchenAid until I get a partial refund or replacement that is not damaged.

Can't believe KitchenAid won't stand behind their product.
from N. Tustin, CA
I bought this in August but it didn't have it installed until later (Kitchen remodel) I used it for about Two weeks and the key pad is bubbling. I called KitchenAid, they said it was past the thirty day period. It would not be covered. I explained to them that I could prove we have only been using it for two weeks. She did not care. She said it was cosmetic and not covered after 30days. So now I have a very expensive microwave that looks bad due to their Manufacturing. Nothing that I did to it. VERY disappointed in KitchenAid.

convection oven fan cycling
from ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA
convection oven fan seems to turn on/off too often causing which is likely the reason food seems to take too long cooking in oven mode.

Not sure if I like it
I was surprised at how small the unit is. Also, had to buy an installation kit to mount into the wall so added another $200 plus dollars. If I had to do it again I would buy a regular microwave and a separate bigger convection oven.

Nice microwave that does a lot
from Eclectic, AL
The defrost functions is the best I've seen in a microwave. The meat does not get browned or heated in the wrong areas. General microwave functions work well. I have het to try the convect feature because we also put in a new warming drawer and double 30" convection oven.....we will probably only use this for overflow on holidays when there is a lot being cooked.
