Very quiet Microwave
from Gulf Shores, AL
Comments about KitchenAid 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave - Black with Stainless Steel:
This is undoubtedly the quietest Microwave I have ever had or seen. It's deep but not too wide and I love it!!! The only problem is that the surround got 2 dings in it and I am having trouble connecting with you on that. You are saying the place I bought it from should take care of it and they are saying you should take care of it. Need better customer service.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Do not buy a Kitchen Aid microwave!
from DeFuniak Springs, FL
I have just received notice from Kitchen Aid/ Whirlpool that they will do nothing about my microwave which is two years old and has so much rust it is unusable and sparks when turned on. We are an older couple so it has received very little use, only reheating leftovers and baking potatoes. We purchased a Kitchen Aid because that name was once synonymous with quality. No more! Do not waste your money on this overpriced appliance.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

WE PURCHASED THE MICROWAVE OVEN WHEN WE WERE BUILDING OUR NEW VILLA. SO FAR WE HAVAE BEEN PLEASED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE OVEN.

Broke within two months of purchase date. Paid for extended warranty and when employee came out he tried to charge me $90.00 and then claimed it was an electrical outlet issue. I hired an electrician to come out and he confirmed that is was not an outlet issue. Which was no surprise since my previous microwave was used in same outer for 17 years without 1 issue.
Poor quality - fails after 4 uses
from Albuquerque, NM
My wife and I remodeled our kitchen and purchased this microwave and trim kit. Unfortunately, there was a 9 month delay in beginning the remodel and the microwave sat in its box awaiting installation. When it was finally installed - the microwave looked beautiful and worked for a total of 10 minutes (four uses) before the magnetron failed - of course the failure occurred 13 days past the one year warranty. This product is not worth the price as we now have to purchase a new microwave to install in our kitchen. Kitchenaid should be ashamed of selling this product.
Not a dependable product
By Linda S
I am now on my third Kitchenaid microwave in 4 years. I would recommend purchasing an extended warranty on this product based on my previous experiences. There are not replacement parts or repairs on these models so when they break they must be replaced. I would recommend purchasing a different brand but I am stuck with this model because I purchased the trim kit and my cabinet was made to fit this appliance. My current microwave(#3) was purchased 4/21/15 and is not working properly 13 months later. The food sparks and burns and the walls of the unit are scorching. Dangerous!!!
Broke in Under 3 Years
from Arlington, VA
This microwave was purchased October 2013, and by January 2016 it started occasionally turning on after a cycle was complete and occasionally not cooking when it was running. I called Kitchenaid, but was informed that there is a one year warranty and there are no replacement parts - so there is nothing they can do. As a huge fan of my Kitchenaid dishwasher and Kitchenaid mixer, I'm incredibly disappointed. I don't feel Kitchenaid is standing by their product - which is quite frankly a fire hazard in that it will spontaneously turn on after a cook cycle is completed. This is a very expensive basic microwave, but it's defective in a dangerous way and Kitchenaid is unwilling to replace or repair.

Do NOT Buy
By Mom in Illinois
We have had this microwave for 1 1/2 years. It now turns on by itself if you shut the door or even a cabinet door. I had a repairman out today and he said there are no replacement parts available for this microwave so I'm out $500+ $100 for trim kit. It should last longer than a year and a half and why no replacement parts available!
Powerful yet small
from Waterford, MI
We needed a small microwave oven to go in a tight space. This one is small, but powerful and looks great. I just wish it had a handle, instead of a button to push to open the door.

We purchased all Kitchen Aid Appliances when we built our home. We have only had them 3 years. This microwave has now stopped heating and must be replaced with a new one. When you pay this price for an appliance you expect them to last for more than 3 years. Mine was installed with a trim kit into my cabinets so now I am forced to replace basically with the same unit. I do not want to purchase another kitchen aid however. We have also had to have 3 service calls on refrigerator as well. I called into customer service but was told the microwave only has 1 year warranty and they are non serviceable. So even if I wanted to get it fixed I can not.
