Fits well in our new kitchen
Comments about KitchenAid 20.0 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Black:
Very quiet and neat looking. This unit replaced our Maytag side by side that sounded more like a meat grinder when the compressor ran. This unit is so quiet that you hardly notice it's running. The counter depth was a selling feature for us.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We bought this as a display closeout and because it was a KitchenAid. The refrigerator is beautiful and very efficient. It looks great in the kitchen and takes much less floor space, which is a big plus in a small kitchen. The freezer compartment is roomy and well designed. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

2 LEMONS FROM kitchen aid
Bought all kitchen aid appliances for our new house few years ago. I have already had repair men out for the dishwasher and this fridge twice each! I gave up on the dishwasher and replaced it with a Samsung and am very happy. However this fridge is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. Leaks every few days and I'm tired of chipping the ice outta the freezer part cause the drain gets clogged or freezes. So someone told me to come here as kitchen aid has a fix? how much is this going to cost me now? almost ready to give up and buy new samsung fridge too.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Our KitchenAid french door refrigerator lasted less than three years. The evaporator malfunctioned due to a poorly designed refrigerant line. KitchenAid's contracted service technician deemed it unrepairable. We purchased KitchenAid's $400 extended warranty which is administered by Assurant, a contracted 3rd party warranty provider. When this issue was identified after the warranty was purchased, neither KitchenAid, nor Assurant would stand behind the product or warranty plan.A refrigerator should be built to last 10+ years and the manufacturer should stand behind its product and warranty. More importantly, KitchenAid should not be selling warranty plans that do not actually cover their products when they are defective. If you are considering purchasing a KitchenAid appliance, you should know that our experience has been a total nightmare and we would strongly recommend considering other manufacturers.
Worth the Price

I waited a few months after I received the "frige" to write this review to insure that all the "bugs" were gone. It's a great machine except for two drawbacks.First, I wish that the "deli" tray, at the bottom of the refrig section, was split. As it is, I need to open both french doors in order to pull the deli tray out.Second, ice builds up on the top of the freezer drawer just below where the two frig doors meet. This causes the freezer drawer to be difficult to open and the freezer light swith to freeze in the closed position; meaning no light in the freezer.I especially like the "counter depth" feature. In addition to making the kitchen a little bigger, we can see what's in the far reaches of the interior.

This frig was chosen by the builder of our new home and I am so happy he made the choice. Love the French doors and lower freezer. Also the size is perfect with the cabinets.
Interior function not as good as outside style
from St Augustine, FL
I like the style of the refrigerator. My wife agrees on the outside presence, but does not like the interior design. She notes that she must open both doors to have unobstructed access to the drawers. Your newer design that has the drawer below the French doors may give her a better impression.
20 Cu. Ft. Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator
from Canton, OH
I love my new refrigerator, and only two comments. I wish the shelves had some kind of edge along the back to stop stuff from falling down the back. The other comment is on the ice maker, the ice often falls out of the ice tray and then either lays under the basket or flies out the bottom onto the floor.
Large for its size!

Used for a couple of weeks now. Was worried it would be too small but it is surprisingly large and still counter-depth.
