Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Platinum:
Well. I purchased this item a little over a year ago. So far, it works fine but I don't like the fact that several pieces of the rack's are either coming loose or broken.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This dishwasher came in my new home. Although it is a standard size I was told it feels a lot smaller loading the dishwasher. Hooks in class have all broken and falling off and prongs not stay up in place
Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KDTE334DSSO
By soccer mom
from Norton, MA
We purchased our Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KDTE334DSSO in April of 2014. We bought it as part of a 4 piece Kitchen Aid Architect Series set. We also bought the 48 month extended warranty. After just over two years, the top rack of the dishwasher failed. The top rack will not slide out and we've found metal ball bearings in the dishwasher. Turns out this type of repair is not covered by the extended warranty and the estimate for parts & labor is almost half the cost of the dishwasher. Having to pay that much to repair a 2 yr. old dishwasher with an extended warranty is outrageous! This is not at all what I would expect from Kitchen Aid brand. And to add to the frustration, the repair parts are back ordered. That tells me that I'm not the only one with top rack problems! I'm very disappointed with this purchase! A beautiful, quiet dishwasher is only a great consumer item if it stands the test of time. Two years would be pitiful for even a low end dishwasher, which this is not priced as! I would not recommend this appliance!!
The name Kitchenaid equals quality!!

This is our 3rd purchase of a Kitchenaid dishwasher. Having recently moved into a new home there was no question as to the make of our dishwasher. The dependability, functionality, durability and the quiet operation are unsurpassed. This is the only dishwasher I would ever purchase.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
New dishwashers suck
By Rob A
from Stony Brook NY
But not this one. This is our fourth unit in 10 years. We have had a GE (came with house), a Bosch (didn't clean well), a new designer GE didn't dry plastics, didn't clean well and was prone to breaking down. Had this unit a month and so far only complaints are the excessively long cleaning times, (it seems all the new water saving green units are slow like this one, so only a handful of washers are faster). It seems that price wise, quality of cleaning, and quality of manufacture we finally got it right
arms do not spin
By frustrated mom of five

Have been using for a year, do not like to give bad reviews but I finally am going to say this dishwasher is really bad. It's quiet;maybe because the arms don't spin? I have to wash my dishes before I wash my dishes... very disappointed.
does not fully drain--foul smell
from Elizabethtown, Pa
This dishwasher cleans dishes, but has had a foul smell from the beginning. There is an inch of water that doesn't fully drain. We had it serviced from the company from which we purchased and had it installed. We were told the water is supposed to be there. Don't even try to get a real person on the phone. I tried five times and after the long wait time I was disconnected twice. Thought I'd try live chat and that has been disabled.I'd expect better customer service for the price we paid for this dishwasher.
Super Solid and Quiet
This dishwasher is very well built. Each component moves with ease to allow different size dishes on each shelf. It runs so quietly we aren't even aware of it.
Smells and Not drying
from Sacramento, CA
We purchased the matching dishwasher, fridge and stove for our kitchen remodel. We have been happy with the other appliances. However, there is a metallic smell that comes out after each cycle and the dishes are wet, even on the drying cycle. I have to make sure to open the dishwasher immediately after the cycle to get the dishes to dry. I could live with the dishes not drying, not that I think I should have too at this price point. But, the smell is terrible. My daughter drank water from a glass last night that just came out of the dishwasher and there is an after taste in your mouth.
