Worst Motor Ever
from Orem, UT
Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:
We added on to our kitchen and got all new appliances last January. All Kitchenaid. They all have problems. This is one of my biggest regrets. I will never buy Kitchenmaid anything EVER again. But the real point of this review is that we bought two of these Kitchenaid Dishwashers. They work fine other than taking up to 4 hours to wash the dishes. The first one had the motor die after about six months, so we had it replaced under the warranty, after waiting three weeks with only one dishwasher. I was glad I still had one dishwasher, but when a load takes 4 hours and you have to do 3-4 loads a day, we could never catch up. Then a few months later, the second dishwasher did the exact same thing, so we went about two weeks again without a second dishwasher while they replaced that motor. Now, guess what? It's starting all over again. The motor is burned out again on the first dishwasher and of course, our year warranty is up. There is no way I'm paying $250 or so every 6-9 months to replace the motor in each dishwasher. I want to replace the dishwasher with one that works, but I should not have to after only 1 year 4 months.

KitchenAid Dishwasher Model KDFE104D
from Burnt Hills, NY
KitchenAid Dishwasher Model KDFE104D: We bought this KitchenAid Dishwasher on March 4th of 2016 and my husband and I are very disappointed with it. We replaced it because we had the same brand before and it lasted 10 years which was great. The disappointment comes from the fact that this dishwasher doesn't fit items in it that used to fit in our older KitchenAid model. Our cutting boards and our baking sheets only fit if we lean them inward; if we don't the sprayer that spins around would hit them and not be able to move. The old one we never had to do that. Obviously, KitchenAid has shrunk the internal size of the dishwasher somehow. Also, my husband's BIG complaint is that it is very noisy; so much so that we can't run it at night because we can hear it so loud up in our bedroom that it keeps him awake. If I could I would have got something quieter and bigger internally. A big disappointment for a high end machine.

stainless steel marred & bad cust service
from Slidell, LA
I bought this unit two years ago and have had an issue with it the whole time. Even paid an absurd amount to have the repair people come out and tell me there was nothing wrong mechanically. The problem is it is streaked and not from water or dirt. It is etched into the front panel. If I rub my finger across the streaks, I can feel the grooves. Complained to customer service and what I get is that I will need to buy a new door and have it installed. I thought I was buying a top-of-the-line product with high quality and I end up with an eyesore in my kitchen. I thought customer service would help and I receive nothing.

The dishwasher is very quiet and does a great job in cleaning. The area where the controls are located are very difficult to read. I need a flashlight to see the start button and other functions at the top of the front panel. I suggest you use a dark color to highlight the various operating functions.

Love the dishwasher. It's very quiet and does an excellent cleaning job. Replaced my 20 year old kitchenaid , which finally gave out.

Love this dishwasher. It is so quiet that I need to look at the lights to know it is running. Cleans well, what more can you ask for in a dishwasher?!
