Clean and Quiet after motor replacement.

Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

Purchased this model 3 weeks ago and after installing and firing it up for the first time the motor began to make a louder than normal groaning sound through out the cycles. I called Kitchenaid support (Technically Whirlpool) and the rep heard the noise over the phone and agreed it was not normal. They set me up with a service appointment for the next day. Long story short, the entire pump/motor assembly was replaced and the dishwasher works perfectly and is now operating at the specified decibel level. So why am I giving a positive review after going through this inconvenience? Because I realize that sometimes products arrive damaged or defective no matter how good a company's quality control process is. Was I disappointed? Sure I was but I'm also realistic and realize we don't live in a perfect world. That is why almost all consumer products come with a factory warranty and this particular warranty worked as stated. I did not pay anything out of pocket, Kitchenaid was great, the service technician was great, and my dishwasher is getting my dishes clean with almost no audible sound at all. I am happy with my purchase and will always recommend Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) dishwashers to others.

Some Design Flaws

Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

This machine has a good range of cycles and is very quiet. But there are some design flaws. 1. Bottom rack’s prongs are too far apart, so it holds fewer plates than my previous dishwasher; and plates sit loosely enough to lurch against each other when rack is moved. 2. Excessively large flatware containers take up too much room. 3. Upper rack can’t accommodate taller stemware. Had to completely remove top silverware rack to make glasses fit. 4. If upper rack is moved to its lower position, there isn’t enough head room for normal dinner plates in bottom rack. They catch on the spinning arm. Also, some wetness remains on sides of the tub (and occasionally on silverware) even after Heat Dry is used.

What a joy, not only is this an attractive addition to our home, it performs in an outstanding manner. This dishwasher is so quiet that we actually had to monitor the the function LED to realize it was running. Great purchase!

I always had a Kitchenaid since I'm a little girl going back to the 1960's. I gave my 3 year old Kitcheaid to my son and was given a Samsung brand new waterfall dishwasher. It never cleaned, made very cheap, couldn't even hold my dishes in place on the racks. I got my money back and bought another Kitchenaid. I'll never do that again! ALL my appliances are Kitchenaid! Always satisfied with the performance of each one. I'll never stray again!!

WOW! It works!

Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

This Kitchen Aid model is awesome! My large bowls and heavy dishes load easily and securely. (in my old one, the plates would fall over like dominos) So far, the dishwasher has cleaned everything I've loaded to sparking clean and even the plastic comes out dry. And that's not easy in the humid south. If you like quiet dishwashers, I doubt you can find one any more quiet than this Kitchen Aid. WOW this is a great dishwasher!

Quality plus!!

Kitchen aid never fails...always consistent quality for the price, with the best features at a reasonable price!! This dishwasher is "Whisper-quiet"...even when I'm in the Kitchen in deep thought doing a project, my train of thought is NOT interrupted by noise!!! Wonderful dynamics with ease of functional/versatile 3 racks...including mobility ease of racking dishes with adjustable racks!!

Satisfied but not thrilled

Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

I had my previous dishwasher for about 12 years and only replaced it because the racks rusted out. The new one gets my dishes clean however it takes about 3 hours to run the cycle from start to finish! Way too long! I don't see how this saves water or energy. They just don't make things like they used to. In addition, the installed I don't think did a very good job because the top rack rolls out on it's own, rather annoying.

Cleans very well..but I would add one more featuer

Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

This DW cleans very well, but we do find some of the loading racks kind of strange, but we are learning how to use them. This unit has a 3rd, upper rack for silverware. The 2nd rack has 2 adjustment settings. We find that in the upper position, stemware hit the upper silverware rack and in the lower position, the middle spray are strikes our larger dinner plates. If there was a "middle" setting, it would have been just perfect. I would also like to see a washing progress set of lights so I have an idea of how much longer the unit is expected to run. We can only see a single LED indicating the unit is operating.

Large capacity!

Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

I rinse everything pretty well because I only use once a week. Observations after using only 3-4 times. Large capacity, lots of ways to configure racks, very quiet, love the 3rd shelf, sleek design. It's not the top of the line, but it's quality built! Opening door after running on Normal using Heat Dry and the drying aid set on 3, the inside of dishwasher and tops of cups and glasses, are VERY wet! Tried not opening door for a few hours, somewhat dryer, then tried leaving door ajar a few hours, everything was pretty dry. Expected everything to be totally dry when cycle was done. A few more water spots, on silverware, than expected, and a couple things weren't totally clean, the silverware basket is so big, wish it could be split into two sections.
