Spots & Grit especially on top rack. SUPER Quiet, rack arrangement fits less than old unit

By vsabinla

Comments about Kitchen-Aid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

We purchased our unit a couple of months ago and have continued to have quality issues with the cleaning. We scrape and rinse the dishes (although we did not have to on our old machine, but I understand that Energy Star units may require this). However, the quality of the clean is very poor. Silver comes out spotted and often with bits of grit. Glasses and items on the top rack appear as if no water is hitting them, with a thick grit layer inside the glasses often. I have tried using the detergent provided with the machine and two other types. I have checked the filter. I have run the tap to make sure hot water is flowing before starting. I've checked the water dispersers that spin and they seem fine and are clean. My only assumption is that sometimes the water doesn't make it to the top rack? I have tried using the ProWash setting and the Tough setting with some luck, but not reliably. I am, frankly, also less than happy with how the racks are arranged as I can fit much less in this unit than my old one, but I have to say this unit is amazingly quiet. I can live with my other issues if I can get it to actually clean properly.

Wonderful appliance

Comments about Kitchen-Aid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

I bought this dishwasher approximately 1 month ago after my double drawer Kenmore broke down. It works wonderfully , I get super clean dishes and it makes absolutely no noise. It looks classy and it appears to be made of better quality materials. The only improvement I can think of when comparing to the Kenmore is I wish they could put the fans in there to maintain fresh air circulating after the cycle is over.

High quality dream cleaner!!

Comments about Kitchen-Aid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

We bought this dishwasher about 2 months ago and it has been a dream! My husband loves how durable the roll racks are and I love how even the racks are making it easy to load things evenly. All the dishes come out spotless even with little pre rinsing the dishes!

Comments about Kitchen-Aid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

I am not real found of the silver wear basket, has a lid with holes to put utensils in, doesn't always fit. I do like that is is very quiet. Don't use cheap detergent, it shows in the cleaning.

Very Quiet

Comments about Kitchen-Aid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

I could hear when our previous dishwasher was on ----- this new one I can't hear and the only way I know it is on is to look at the indicator light. Both trays slide very easily with the ball bearing assembly.

We've had our new dishwasher almost 2 months and it's great. Dishes are very clean and it's super quiet. Only time you hear it is in the drying cycle.

Dishes and silverware dirty and spotted after "cleaned" in this dishwasher

By UnhappyBuyer

from Bucks County, PA, United States

Comments about Kitchen-Aid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

Just got this dishwasher and am VERY disappointed. I use the Cascade packet and rinse aid that came with this dishwasher and rinse my dishes and silverware off before putting them in, but every time I use it, whether on Normal or ProWash cycle, the dishes come out with bits of food stuck to them and the silverware comes out tremendously spotted and also with little bits of food on them. Should not be like this and should not have to have a brand new dishwasher serviced. Would not recommend this dishwasher at all. I've attached 3 photos of silverware just "cleaned" in this dishwasher. Clearly subpar, unacceptable performance from a new dishwasher!
