Is it running???
from Suffield CT
Comments about KitchenAid 24" Built-In Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:
This is the only kitchenmaid appliance I bought when we downsized to a new condo. We simply did not want to compromise. We are amazed how quiet it is--we've had to train ourselves to look at the LCD indicator on the door that tells you if it is on or what cycle it's in. You just can't hear it! It cleans amazingly well, but you have to use the rinse agent to reduce condensation after the drying cycle. There's a removable utensil tray that we removed on the top rack, but other than that the interior design is similar to other Kitchenmaid dishwashers we have owned--well planned out. The stainless steel front is sleek and blends in with our other brand appliances. This was a good purchase.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Check your silverware handles first!
from Dix Hills NY
Our everyday silverware has fat handles that don't fit into the slots in the tableware carrying basket. I never thought to try it before we bought it. Machine is quiet, but it doesn't do a great job on knife blades, you have to prewash them and remove all food before putting in the machine

We bought this dishwasher over a month ago. I'm still trying to figure out how to get everything to fit. The silverware tray (top tray) doesn't hold much. It takes too much time to individually place forks, knives. The second tray bumps against the top one when you pull it out. If you adjust it lower, plates don't fit below it. If I put salad bowls, soup bowls, etc. leaning against each other, then they don't get clean. They HAVE to be pre-rinsed. It doesn't seem like it holds as much as my last dishwasher. If I fill the soap dispenser, then it isn't fully rinsed out. I have to be careful to use only about 1/2 full. Is it getting clean when I do? Overall, I'm not impressed with my purchase.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Runs for hours won't shut off
from Hot Springs AR
Bought it in Nov. in March the service man installed a new control panel since it wouldn't shut off. Seven weeks later we are having the same problem and Kitchenaid tech said there's not a problem with it. Customer service said they have to go by the tech's comments. When a dishwasher runs 5 hours without shutting off something is wrong.
Cleans & Quiet!

About Me Casual Cook
This Kitchenaid is just what I wanted... clean lines, controls on the front, door closes neatly under the counter without setting off the start cycle. It's uncomplicated to operate, easy to load, cleans very well and is very quiet which is important in our great room arrangement! Couldn't be happier!
Quiet and Flexible

When it's just the 2 of us the top rack only feature is great. Loving my new dishwasher!
from West Falls, NY
I have owned this dishwasher for about 10 months and it is fantastic. First off it is REALLY quiet. You have to listen close to tell it is running. Second, it gets the dishes really clean. I mean REALLY REALLY clean. If you use a good rinse aid there are no soap spots and the dishes come out of the dishwasher ready to put away. My only complaint is that the only delay wash option is 4 hours. No big deal.

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER!!
from San Diego, CA, United States
I regret buying this dishwasher. It doesn't drain after a cycle and leaves 2+cups of standing water at the bottom, which smells after a day.Six repair visits, and we were told that this is normal for this model.

About Me Avid Cook
We bought this to replace the 15 year old Bosch that had lived a good full life. We had compared multiple dishwashers and finally settled on this model because of the reviews and features.Loading was a little awkward at first. We were so used to the old dishwasher layout, but it's getting easier. We do like the larger spacing in the lower racks which allows for wider oven pans. One drawback is we can no longer fit our larger cutting boards because they hit on the bottom of the upper rail. If moved inward then the spray nozzle for the upper rack hits it.Otherwise we're very satisfied with our purchase.
