Very happy with our purchase. It has tons of room and has been everything we hoped it would be.

After six months, the icemaker died. It has taken just about two weeks to schedule a repair. I do not know what the outcome will be.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Some things to be aware of with this fridge...
We have had this fridge for 4 years, so we can honestly review the good and bad about this appliance. The styling is very attractive, however, the finish shows fingerprints very easily and they are very difficult to completely remove. If you have children or lots of hands opening the fridge, trying to keep it clean and shiny will drive you crazy. The gaskets don't seal very well and allow moisture to build up around the doors and drawers causing mold to grow. The ice maker tub is not removable and does not allow you to access the ice in any way except from the outside dispenser. This means that if you want to fill up an ice bucket, you will need to fill a cup many, many times and dump the ice into the bucket. This is very time consuming. If you ever wanted to get enough ice for a cooler, you could probably drive to the store and buy a bag of ice in the time it took to dispense the ice from the front. The veggie drawer is a great idea, but the dividers do not allow for a separation of fruits and veggies unless you only have a couple of items of one or the other. There is a big space in the middle of the drawer and two very narrow dividers on each side. I would prefer to keep the veggies separate so they don't flavor the fruit. There is a known defect in the design of the drain tube, which causes the fridge to leak water on the floor randomly from under the freezer compartments. The company will send you the replacement part at no charge, but you have to defrost the freezer and pay the labor to replace it (about $200) The freezer drawers do not lift out. Not even the little ones on the top. This means things get lost in the deep drawers and it is very difficult to organize the frozen food, find what you are looking for or clean out the drawers. A lot of the glass inside is not removable either, so debris and liquid get trapped in the seams and it's almost impossible to remove. It does keep things cold and the ice maker and water filter work well.
Great price, looks good, and lots of storage

I would definitely recommend this appliance to a friend. I am also looking to purchase a stove and will definitely buy another Kitchenaid product.

I bought this 2 years ago in January and the refrigerator ice maker stopped working and also the microwave. I paid a lot of money for this product very disappointed it only lasted 2 years. Other then that i like the features and also the look of the fridge.

I was looking to replace my old fridge and doing research found this special buy and amazing price. So far love it.
Grest Refrigerator. Horrible Ice Maker.
from Morristown TN
Brand new Ice maker was a hassle due to ice cubes freezing together and making a huge mess when dispensing. Seems like it only makes around 10 cubes a day so if you like alot of ice you better buy another fridge. Now Ice maker has completely quit. Expected alot more from kitchen aid.
This refrigerator replaced an Amma that was 20 years old, I hope this one lasts that long.

Purchased to replace a side-by-side that I was happy with but wanted to update. (Partner said that it was too noisy at night.) I really liked the middle drawer that could be pulled out independently without opening the big doors. (Excellent for sandwich fixings, fruits or just kid snacks.) Excellent storage capacity-- especially for milk jugs & pitchers, as well as in-door compartments. Also, water/ice dispenser was a must-- this one can fill a water glass without having to stand over it (once you've done a 1-time calibration of the measure). Only down side is that you cannot access ice bin-- it must come out through door dispenser (which means that you cannot check to see what your supply level is). Elgin Electric (Elgin, OR) is the place to purchase if you are nearby!!! (Saved $400 over same model at competitor.)
