Be Prepared To Replace Lots of Parts
from Bellevue, Wa
Comments about KitchenAid 26.8 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - Monochromatic Stainless Steel:
We bought this refrigerator a 2 years ago. Whatever you save in price, you will loose in replacing parts. To date we have replaced 2 drawers b/c they are cheap plastic. We just replaced a cracked reservoir that caused water to drip out everywhere. The parts are cheaply made but costly. Kitchenaid did pay for reservoir even though it was not covered. We had to pay $350 labor. Our previous refrigerator lasted 6+ years and no issues.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Noisy but like its size
from Providence, UT
The fridge has a horrible sound like it is taking off at times. I had to straighten the brackets around the front wheels to make it roll. Other than that I like it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Our first purchase from KitchenAid proves to be a great choice. The veggies the the fridge last the week without shriveling or spoiling.

We bought our new refrigerator about a month ago. Love all the features and the LED lighting with the Platinum interior is awesome. I haven't had a new refrigerator in almost 17 years and can't believe the changes. The filtered water is great. Lot less bottled water.
Already having to replace
We purchased our new KitchenAid when we did a remodel one year ago. We had a 25 year old refrigerator that never needed one service call. Within a month of having our new refrigerator, we had our first service call. Today we picked a new model as the appliance store said we qualified for the replacement because of having 5 service calls in a 12 month period. The main issues were with the ice maker, food freezing on the top shelf, a split in a water hose, and the freezer drawer going off it's track several times. They retrofitted it with a defrost unit, but that didn't work either. We loved all other aspects of the fridge, but when you consider the repair person a member of your family because he's there so often, that's not good.
Stick to Mixers not refrigerators
from Washington DC
This refrigerator is worthless. This is the 4th repair in 2 years. Ice Dispenser/Water not working. Serviceman ordered 2 circuits boards. Replaced them and still not working and now the whole refrigerator is not cooling. Needs a compressor which was replaced a little over a year ago, but still haven't fixed the original problem. I spent good money buying what I thought was a 'quality name brand' appliance. What a joke. They should stick with Mixers.

Our experience with Kitchen Aid has been both good and bad.My husband and I replaced our gas stove, dishwasher and fridge, with all Kitchen Aid products. They were installed April 9,2016 and since that day the water and ice dispenser NEVER worked correctly. We cannot use the ice maker because when it fills the water comes out of the water dispenser,at least half a glass each time.It has been frustrating to say the least. New fridge and it does not work properly, not to mention we paid over $2000. and made in America. A technician is coming tomorrow May 4,2016 hopefully to rectify the problem.
Do not Buy! Broke down in less than 2 years
I bought this refrigerator less than 2 years go, it broke down and now I am in a nightmare loop of Kitchen Aid refusing to take any responsibility of its product. I have an Kitchen AID extended warranty and they keep on sending a repair company out, who keeps on coming up with new problems to fix. six weeks and still counting with no resolution

Major desappointment in KITCHENAID
from Middletown, De
Purchased refrigerator just over two years ago and from the start we have had problems with the unit, from ice buildup in the refrigerator section to freezer not properly working to entire system down with loss of all food. Had numerous service techs do the "necessary repairs" still not working. Don't buy this unit unless you are ready for trouble. A total waste of money.
Disappointing and Frustrating
from Wayne, NJ
Purchased this refrigerator a little over 2 years ago. After MANY service calls relating to the icemaker and the freezer, it is now being deemed unrepairable. We had the ice maker, compressor, evaporator and two boards replaced, and still no resolution. We are looking into the replacement model which is the same model but the newer version (KRFF707ESS). This version is more expensive at this point (being it is 2 years later) and I am nervous because I am reading similar bad reviews. To make the situation worse it has new hardware that no longer matches ALL the other appliances we intentionally purchased to match. The new hardware has red sides, a completely different style and the handles are not flush. The refrigerator is located in a narrow area that is a main walkway in our home and will likely get banged into and may be an issue with catching clothing etc. I looked into possibly purchasing the original hardware to put on the new refrigerator and even though the 2 units look identical the handles are not interchangeable. This has been a very time consuming, upsetting, costly process and should not even be something we should have to deal with on such a young refrigerator. After searching for answers and reading reviews it seems there are many other folks that have had similar issues with the freezer/ice maker on this model. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
